I discovered reddit about 6 months ago. At first I thought it was pretty neat. Now I have a sneaking suspicion that there is really only one other guy on the site. A 14 year old, pimple faced youth who hates anyone that isnt liberal, atheist, and really really loves cats and bacon. At this point the only subs I have are star trek and firefly, and I look at it every once in a while when I'm really really bored.
As a Christian, I'm glad you did. People that would use a religion to gain control over others or power for themselves is a terrible thing. The message of Jesus (and thus, Christianity) is all good, and one of love and compassion. What people have done with religion is really, really bad. The same thing needs to happen with Islam.
Clearly you are a liberal. Even claiming to be a conservative on the internet will immediately get you harrased, regardless of individual views. I used to think like you do, then became a conservative. Then I saw the REAL hate directed towards an entire group of people regardless of their individual beliefs.
So... because you can't prove something with science it is immediately wrong? It must be nice having the answers to life, the universe, and everything!
I'm a Christian and I completely agree with you. Many "Christians" don't even read the Bible. Also, going to church doesn't make one a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.
I'm literally sitting in the middle of the datacenter right now, in the middle of all the racks. I read this article and now I have a headache. Damn it!!
Not too long ago I was thinking to myself, "You know, I haven't really pirated anything in a while. Most of what I want is on hulu or netflix." I also noted that many of the things I watched on Netflix started with the Starz logo. Perhaps very soon it will be time to go back to TPB. Why don't media companies get it? I don't *NEED* to buy their product, I can have it for free because there is no scarcity in a world of 1s and 0s.
Its gorgeous. Simply beautiful. I know I won't buy it. I like games, but if I want to PC game, I can get a great experience for so much less money with a desktop. Also I don't have to worry about switching out hardware nearly as much. If I wanted to spend that much money on a good-looking laptop I would get another Macbook Pro... then it will have the added benefit of running OS X. Of course it wouldn't be a gaming laptop then, but who really needs a gaming laptop AND has almost 3 grand to spend on it? My guess is this is SUPER niche.
I use my iPad in all of those locations and I really don't see a problem with it. My iPad is where I read my books now, and people take those to the bathroom or restaurants as well.
Also this isn't particularly new either. I have been taking devices to the bathroom since my first Palm device. I have a very specific routine (not really by thinking about, it just developed naturally) I have developed to ensure the device never gets dropped in!
Also because I don't want to have sex with something designed like the Crushinator. My sex bot gotta be 36-24-36 and have both legs....3 boobs is fine though.
I don't want them using my buildings, elevators, stairs, appliances. Robots are second class citizens, and they can build their own hovels at the outskirts of town!!! This water fountain is carbon based only!:D
And you STILL can't reset your PSN password OR register a new account. Maybe they will get this award next year too, at the rate they are restoring services.
I'm over reading all these stories already. How about I just get in line to let them embed the microchip, swab my cheek, barcode my ass, gather a stool sample, map my brainwaves, embed cameras in my retinas and install the collapsible satellite dish in my urethra. I mean, I AM ok with this.
Other than all the advantages the OS itself has over Microsoft, and is available to all users, not just creative ones. (desktop management tools that MS is still catching up on, unix based os, far superior gui, etc,etc on and on...)
The only reason I have even ever heard of it was because I came across it when doing research about some of the free standard tools in Linux. Most notably gcc. I saw that it came from the GNU site and they had a link on there about HURD, which looked a lot like its own whole operating system. I asked myself why they would do this considering Linux seemed to be the OS and GNU seemed to contribute the tools. I figured I would maybe try out their OS, only to find that it didn't really exist (at least not in any useable form).
Am I the only one that noticed "NAKED LADIES" on the news bar to the right of the screen at the start of video? I have the whole internet at my fingertips and I'm thinking "BUT WHAT ABOUT THE NAKED LADIES???"
I am totally jaded. When I see something like this I read it as "NASA calls press conference to remind government and people they are still here and need money, because what they do is really, really cool". Of course, I agree too, but I would be surprised if there was really any kind of life found. Prove me wrong NASA! I, for one, would welcome our new alien-insect overlords!
