Didn't mean to indicate that one type of person should go through and some shouldn't. Just that it will be way worse for some people. They shouldn't do this at all, of course, for so many of the reasons others have posted.
I know you are trying to be funny, but what about transgendered persons? If a trans-female walks through one of these things (pre-op), should she be subjected to the questions that will bring up? It seems like an unnecessary and humiliating search.
I worked in infosec for a fortune 100 bank. That is exactly how their program was run as well. Not that they specifically discriminated against people with CS degrees, but they just didn't care enough to hire that way. I got into the department through various re-orgs and when I ended up on that particular team they asked me if I wanted to do forensics. I said sure and I got wisked away to encase training where I learned how to point and click my way through the app and use a hardware write blocker. I do have a solid background in computers with programming and Unix knowledge, but I certainly don't have the hardware level knowledge that a real forensic investigator needs. It sure was fun though.
I did some looking around to see what kinds of things "real" forensics investigators reccommend for credentials and yes CS is one of them, but I'm too old to start over again in undergrad. It looks like with a few certs and a decent resume you can get hired in the public sector.
If anyone actaully finds out that you play, it can seriously harm your career.
Not necessarily. I had a job interview as a web developer with a dev team and one of the sites I had put together was a World of Warcraft guild site. They asked to see it which then turned into a 15 minute conversation about WoW (and the usual player protocol: "What Server do you play on", etc). I did get an offer!
Enjoyed reading your comments. I think you are pretty much correct. Any kind of revolution in this day and age will be borne out of generations of patience and careful positioning and an overall sacrifice to ideals. Our society has none of those things now. You know, like the Fremen.
I don't know if this applies to the armory or not (it doesn't say in the link). If it doesn't then probably just don't post on the forums (I won't be becasue my last name is too unique). If it does...well that would just suck.
While I think that overall this is a good thing for the Blizzard forums (as well as other changes they are making according to TFA, including rating up and down on posts), it completely removes my desire to post on their forums. I don't troll as a rule (but I can't say it’s never happened), but my last name is so unique that finding me on the Google is already ridiculously easy (my first and last name - all of the first page is me). I don't need prospective employers knowing about my gaming habits, and even less so prospective dates. Not that I go out of my way to hide these things from people, but I don't want it popping up as a matter of course just because someone googles my last name.
Man, I think of that Asimov thing every day when I commute into the city. The tallest buildings in this large city were all built over 40 years ago. Some of them much older. We make small changes here and there, but never anything major for the sheer "we can do it" and for progress sake. Like those elevators in Asimov's story. There is an attitude of we *could* do it, but no one wants to bother. It is just not "cost effective".
Well, you could list them if there actually are any. Not a single comment gives any rational reason why one would want a tattoo, including yours that states that there are reasons without actually giving any. And "everybody else is doing it" is neither a logical nor a rational reason.
Most logical reasons could be fairly personal. Members of my family get tattoos when loved ones pass away. It gives them a sense of connection with the person that passed and is a way to pay homage to the memory of that person. Anthropologically humans have this need to connect with those we love and to express this in physical ways. This seems a fairly logical way to achieve that, and it helps to fulfill a basic need.
Are there other ways to accomplish this as well? Sure. There is usually more than one way to skin a cat. In this case, we put the cat on the skin.
"Backup plan: your five top choices for laws of physics that we all know to be true today, but that we will know to be false before you die. Then you can cross them out as they are disproven."
Absolutely the best idea I have seen posted on this thread!
I agree - and didn't they take away ANY notes from that whole fiasco? I don't seem to remember it working out really well for SCO...unless some executives sold off stock early...
I would imagine that the problem IS with the player manufacturer. It seems like they didnt fully implement BD+ in their players as they should have done. Probably due to a combination of rushing the market to product without fully testing and coding for the spec, thinking "ah, we can fix that in a patch later, it plays regular blu-ray fine for now".
When all the other players except 2 work, it seems to point more to a problem with the players than the disks.
Of course, this whole crappy thing could be avoided by not using shitty DRM in the first place.
Your grocery store doesn't have a monopoly on grocery stores in your area. If there was a market for one-egg purchases, it would be available. There IS a market for a la carte cable, however.
"Making the low difficulty level is purposely done to help entice new FPS users."
Yes I agree, and I am one of those. I haven't purchased an FPS in 3 years because I am generally terrible at them, but the opportunity to play one that had this level of polish and style meant I couldn't refuse. I still had to turn the default difficulty down a click though. Yea I know, I'm such an FPS noob. But I think its this quality that appeals to a large swath of xbox owners, and not just hardcore FPS-ers.

Perhaps cheaper, I would not say easier. Depends on where you live and who you count as friends and acquaintances!

I cringe at the kind of advertising potentially created based on trade, general and gchat.
Probably make good t-shirts though.

KORGULL, Whats up Bro? Its Me, THOG 'TH UNTAMED! How have things been since the lynching?
I feel the need to provide some data regarding the numbers in your post.
35 numbers
16 Unique
92 Characters
All numbers 0-9 represented
You have 32 listed 6 times, and 6 other numbers listed 3 times, and 3 numbers listed twice.
I think Prince is on to something here, because I could NOT get back to work until I had at least a little more information regarding the numbers.
I don't quite get your sig. But I think I want to. ;)

Amen God Dammit!
Wow you fail. The logic is for humans to obey an emotional imperative. If you don't follow this, then you aren't really living. GLHF!

awwww man you beat me to it!! Malda is even older than me and I knew that! :P
Good point - I would bet on RearAdmiralLowerHalfTaco. I don't even want to go into what that might imply...

I agree with you. After all, look at the exact OPPOSITE of that (thank you penny arcade)
