Google translation of the second paragraph (yeah, I'm lazy):
Do I have to show identification when I vote?
You must prove your identity to vote. You can prove your identity in three ways: 1. Be known by the voice receiver 2. Show ID document 3. Any other person can vouch for your identity. Then the one who vouches show his ID. The social security number of the person who vouches written down in the electoral roll.
I hadn't looked at beta before this fantastic storm in a teacup, so I thought, what the hell I have to try it. It's a bit different, and a bit more modern. I cannot for the life of me understand why you are all so upset.
I actually switched over to beta now, and probably won't think more of it (unless i see more of these childish f**k beta posts...)/Hans
I sure as hell think he is smart, but he probably also had a bit of luck. I think all successful business leaders have a bit of both. They haven't shown innovation in their products, but definitely in their channel selection and logistics.
and usually medical databases are quite thoroughly tied down in this respect.
I don't know much about this case, but in Sweden we have a national test for all newborns, where they collect blood to check for a few diseases (PKU, the google is your friend). When they have checked it, they store the information "for research purposes".
When our minister of foreign affairs was killed, the Police requested samples from the database and got them.
So, don't count on the database staying "for research purposes"...
And no, overpopulation won't be a problem becasue humans, like all biological creatures will only expand to meet the amount of food that is available. The rest will starve.
I think you and I have a different definition of "a problem".
Vägverket believes it is partly because people risk compensate (see the wikipedia article) and partly because ABS-cars stop quicker in an emergency and get tailgated by non-ABS-cars.
So, use the electronics, but don't believe you are invulnerable because of it...
No, it's not pretty well documented. If so, please provide that documentation.
A few years ago I read a study from the Swedish Road Agency (VÃgverket) that concluded that ABS is better on all surfaces except loose gravel and deep snow. I would dig up the study, but I don't have to since the same information is availabe here (they add sand): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-lock_braking_system
(By the way, we will deplete our mineral resources like copper and iron ore long before we deplete our non-renewable sources of energy.)
But I'm going to have to disagree with you here. We will never actually run out of copper or iron or oil. As the amount of these resources that is naturally occurring decreases, the price will rise to the point that: (A) It becomes cost-efficent to dig through landfills and recycle previously used resources, and (B) other materials that were previously too expensive for the application will now be cost-effective.
Thats a strange logic. "We will never run out because when we do we will use something else." Although, I agree with you. Of course we will use something else if/when we run out of oil/copper/iron.
If quotes from the quran don't define islam, then what does ?
Ok, let's give that a try and see what happens.
Going even more off topic, there actually is a difference between the Bible and the Quran: Muslims believe that the Quran is Gods words. Literally. Very few Christians believe the Bible is.
That said, I still don't believe that Islam as a faith is any worse than Christianity. But there is a difference in quoting the Quran and the Bible.
(And now someone will point out that the Quran is only Gods words in arabic...)
If the lead author on the study submitted the summary - why didn't he link to a proper paper rather than the press release junk? Maybe because it's not a press release, but a news article from Reuters? And if you bothered to RTFA (yes, i know, I'm new here) it says that the study is published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, which is a pretty important paper.
Since they peer-review their articles, I would imagine that other experts thought 270 people ought to be good enough for everyone...
What's wrong with this picture? The problem is that most Linux people have a cooks-first mentality, and when a regular diner comes along with a question or any comment except for extreme praise, the standard answer translates into "Why haven't you read the cookbook yet? The answer is right there." Well, the reason they didn't read the cookbook is because they just want to eat a tasty Linux sandwich, not to become a master chef. I don't understand. Could you please change the analogy to cars and mechanics?
No, he's not.
Public faith in journalism is good, not in singular journalists. There's a big difference there.
A new standard? Obligatory xkcd

Just a comment from another Swede:
It is not mandatory with an ID card, not even to vote, see: http://www.val.se/det_svenska_...

Ok, but you start out with saying:
What makes you think he was ever all that smart?
I sure as hell think he is smart, but he probably also had a bit of luck. I think all successful business leaders have a bit of both. They haven't shown innovation in their products, but definitely in their channel selection and logistics.
Religion is simply your own personal reason that you do X.
No, that would be more like philosophy. I do not have a religion, but I do have reasons for why I do X. And no, atheism is not a religion.
Sure, it's better than many alternatives.
But maybe, just maybe they shouldn't call it, i don't know, unlimited?
Someone should nominate Assange to UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize 2011
Imagine if he would have to get parol from a US prison to attend?

that will be cured.
And no, overpopulation won't be a problem becasue humans, like all biological creatures will only expand to meet the amount of food that is available.

Oh yes, one more thing.
How does AD make backups and RAID unnecessary?
Sorry, couldn't resist, but you really did answer a whole other question than the one I asked...
Aren't we talking about a small business?
Wasn't that the point of setting this thing up?
Sure if you have a multinational company, everything is different, but that was not what we were talking about, or was it?
AD is great if you need it, but for a small shop I believe it is overkill.
Um.
The choices were
a) set up a windows server
b) use google docs
Someone came along and suggested linux and openoffice.
Someone else said that that was the most complicated choice.
I merely (tried?) to say that maybe a) and linux isn't that different?
Sure, Google apps is probably easier than linux or windows, but is the linux and openoffice choice really "the most complicated to implement"
How is that more complicated than setting up a Windows server and MS Office?
Sure setting up backups and raid is "complicated" but, is there something magical with Windows and MS Office that makes that unnecessary?
No, the same is seen in Sweden too.

Also, people often confuse traction control with stability control, and another study att VÃgverket (see http://www.vv.se/filer/34642/11_1_effekten_av_antisladdsystem_vagverket_och_folksam_2005.pdf)
showed that staility control dramatically improves safety in real life situations.
Remember, this is Sweden, and we do have a lot of snow and ice in the winter.
So, electronics is your friend in the car. Don't shut it of if you're not really sure what you're doing.

Kthanks.
And that's just weird to me as a European (if there is such a thing, I'm Swedish, never really think of myself as European).

Including the VAT in the list price makes more sense to me, at least for consumer goods.
Then I know what I have to pay.
Who plans on bookmarking this story so they can laugh heartily at it again in a year?
Don't need to. Just wait for it to be duped...
I'm sure Leonardo da Vinci would have agreed with you...
It's actually swedish, but close enough i guess....
