Firefox 3 without my Firefox 2 plugins is useless to me. If I can't run NoSquint, most pages will be too small for me to see. There are other examples but I'm just providing that one.
This will suck up 2 gigs of addressable memory space out of your 4 gig total. So even if you have a bazillion gigs of ram, your OS will only see 2G.
Is it really worth slowing down ALL your performance just to have your games run a little faster? Better hope those games don't require much memory, or that you are running a 64-bit OS!
Bullshit -- I've had 7 DSL ISPs for about 9 years, and have downloaded at full capacity (currently 3M, double a T1) nearly 100% of the time (back in the 0.75M and 1.5M days), often exceeding 250G in a month (in the 3M days). At no time has this ever cost me more than about $70 a month. I live in Northern Virginia.
They then had the gall to try to silence me with a threat of an early termination fee, and took many months to properly pay me back for the pre-paid month of service that I didn't get.
They are assholes. They should burn. But Patriot.Net? Capu.Net? Silcon.com? All great ISPs that let you do what you want.
I've seen firsthand evidence in the volume label titles. They say "(rental version)" [or maybe just rental... 16 character limit?]. Not all say it (can you expect consistency in something that only shows up in a computer and not a dvd player? No), but they do. This would certainly indicate that at the factory pressing level, there are 2 editions of these movies.

Be that as it may, it is the case that they are special rental versions. Apparently you can't verify this as easily, but there are other comments here, made by other people, saying the same thing.
It's illegal, you're naive, and you need to do your search before making armchair declarations that are totally inaccurate. Rental stores use SPECIAL RENTAL VERSIONS that cost 10X the normal retail cost. This is in agreement with the studious, as they COULD NOT do what you just said they could. A video store can't just buy used dvds online and rent them. Doesn't work that way. Do your homework.
Rental stores HAVE to use rental versions of the movies. Just stick it in your dvd-rom -- sometimes the volume label for the disc will even SAY rental. Usually the front of the disc will. Whereas you and I pay $5-$15 for a movie, I believe a rental version goes more for $60.
You have a point -- though I was being sarcastic and actually DO want people to vote. But I feel compelled to point out that your "DON'T CARE" part is a bit 1-dimensional. They still care -- They still need some rudimentary voter support, even if it's not a majority. It isn't called politics for nothing. Even the antichrist Dubya "cares".

I care about not caring about my karma. Thus, depending on your semantic interpretation of the word "care", and all the implications therein, one could argue either way -- that I don't care, or that I care by virtue of wanting to not care.
It's also my way of saying "my postings are not motivated by karma"...
