I myself work in the IT field and I have also noted that there has been resistance to ideas spawned by us youth. The point that i would like to make, is that "most" of this fire seems to come from the older/oldest IT staff. They seem to be resistanat to the idea that there is a generation out there that can do their job or sometimes better, with little or in some cases no formal education.
Thankfully i now reside in a comunity of IT workers that appreciate the insite of youth.
Take heart, they cant last forever

All I can say is I hope beyond hope, this mini series is better than the last. More along the lines of the movie.
Having read the book and watch both the mini series and the movie, I perfer the latter.
