I dont recall saying that he endorsed it. What i was commenting about is the fact that everyone thinks that this is some ground breaking thing when in the eyes of real dj's its along the lines of CD DJ's. Sure it may take skill that is similar to spinning real records, but is it the same thing?

Its some toy for slashdot reading technogeeks to jizz their pants over. So calx instead of slamming on me for a post try replying to the content of my post.
Shadow is at least semi skilled in the art of turntablism and probably doesn't need to scratch his mp3's as im sure he has an impressive collection of actual records.. This stuff is aimed towards mp3 kiddies who are too stupid/cheap to buy records for themselves or get plates pressed of their own music:P
So far bout 7 gigs worth of movie has been moved off the one machine since 9 am and i havnt had any complaints.. My friends were able to watch it fine (i didn't watch it myself because i dont run windows) but if anyone who has any probs feel free to mail me..

Define "proprietary".. BeOS is posix compliant and compiles alot of unix apps right out of the box. Just cuz they arent gpl, and dont run binaries from other os's doesnt mean they are 'proprietary' ..

Anyone else have problems with the kernel dying when using SCSI cdroms and an 7880? Ive been running 2.1.x since.99 and this is the first time ive had a problem.. But pre 1-4 have been crashing hard on me..
usb 2.0.. ultra 3 scsi, rdram, g400's?
