a few easy cures for this one: follow the in-channel rules, don't ask dumb questions, and use your head.

oh, and the dial up thing... it would take awhile (12.5 hrs-ish per episode, as they are ~220 megs each) but hey, just leave your comp. on while you are at work or school.

further (on the needing high-speed in all of the cities you go to) you could always just buy high-speed at a base location and telnet (or whatever) in and d/l via ftp from there. While it may seem expensive, it is doable (this comming from a high-school student who pays for his own car (insurance and gas too), food, activities, and internet access) i do it making ~150$ per week at the supermarket at minimum wage.

    just food for thought....

First, have you been to a Christian church lately? Is that how they teach about God? Jesus loves you? Yes, that statement really is consistent with how you say we teach it, isn't it?
my parents make me go to church every week. in the last year all that i have gained from it (other than in large hate for religion)is the fact that pastors are people who couldn't get another job. in that year i have never once heard the phrase "jesus loves you." And they don't really teach you about god, church is just a big social club (whether or not you want to admit it).

you obviously haven't studied the Old Testament at all.
by the age of 17 i have read the bible cover to cover 2 times, not all "religion haters" neglect religion completly (we can use examples when arguing with ignorant christians (not impling that all chiristians are ignorant)).

anyway, why didn't god change or influence the ways of the early "bad societies?" would that not have not been the best option to help the future generations? oh yeah, he killed the other civilizations because he chose one of them above all others as his personal favorite.

    1) he didn't give the people ample warning and time to change their ways
But he, as the all seeing omnipotent god, had infinate forsight and could have easily stopped the "bad" practices in their infancy.

yeah, this rant makes little sense but hey, this IS slashdot...

One of these days a really bright kid is going to snap and we will have an event that will make Columbine look like a walk in the park. Some day, and I fear it is not long off, some kid will really want revenge and his home-made bombs will denonate when they are supposed to, and hundreds of kids, and their families, are going to pay for the cowardice of the school administration to enforce existing laws.

I agree. But if a REALLY bright kid was going to do this he not resort to explosives or guns, he would poison the food (or something along those lines) and be less likely to get caught. Think of the media frenzy that would come after half the school dying and not one bullet fired. Most of the parents in the country would not allow their kids to go to school.
