I have still managed to fish out "Made in Germany" of theirs, when needed laptop for clients, while at extremely competitive prices and usually two Windows versions included for complete piece of mind. With many laptops there have been some kind of problem, but did not occurred on theirs, except power jack ruined by some child at somebody's home. Often, choosing laptop from new look at the market, I happened to end with Fujitsu (Siemens) again.
At this state of things they will be missed for sure.
Ability to step back and enjoy vinyl sound and process of playing record instead of intangible audio stream, expose medium (or large) format film, using equipment about hundred years old, instead of instant bit-gatherer - it is all very special experiences, and is quite a special choice. It results in positive emotions, absurd to deny.
It had nothing critical to do with the environmental regulations, and you should know it. It was about "money talks", and China having found unique formula of "making the same, but cheaper". Composition? Combination of plain cheating (like post offices stuffed with gifts from China), imitation of value, uncivilized semi-communistic labour practices, discarding of environmental concerns both at large and locally. Yes, this can lead to cheaper alternative, and it does. All the manufacturers of the whole developed world have shifted production because that formula can work (at that hidden cost). And no, as long as their role is of cheap outsourcer, but not of designer, market bringer and seller, they do not reap major benefits from the deal, only the slice they are offered.
So you better check relevance ad precision of your statements, buddy.
First things first: discussed negative valuation of the core is result of other valuations and their subtraction. All these valuations are largely approximate to allow for any reasonable conclusion in quantitive terms. Therefore casuistical nature of this must be nailed down first off.
Then, company in quite substantial extent follows Google model of presence on net and its sophistication. Allright, in less extravagant fashion, but with lesser part of failing attempts at exotic activities as well. Presence on net is important by itself, it is itself chunk of the pie. I am user of Yahoo services and their client, like many others are. It is huge potential base for the future, it cannot be valued below zero just for the fact.
Yes, they are not that bold and trendy perhaps, but they are solid - which is important (even ambitious Microsoft does NOT have that decent reputation, sorry) - and they managed to own Alibaba, that is only one modest corner of the net and its future. More is definitely to come, no doubt in that. If Yahoo has presence, they as well may continue owning more of such.
Finally, it is greatly stretched to cite Yahoo as Altavista killer or what. Everybody knows what search method made it obsolete. Actually, I do use Yahoo search engine in the process of fishing some cached content, not present somewhere elsewhere - again, being present with unique resources is sufficient ground of serving your portion of clients in the future as well, likely expanding where becomes possible.
It will be different thanks to the honor of another institution, then. This matter is not a toy anymore, it is about severe consequences. Greetings from Europe, that seems to feel moment so much better.
The thing is, those "striking" changes will only take niches to fill. Yes, they will make impact here and there, but, for illustration purposes, Linux and open source likewise was nearly expected to change everything fundamentally - and did it? It did, but to certain extents only. Of course, incremental and intervening changes in/with new media, as per McLuhan, will advance all the time. But, again, nature of processes is evolutionary and fragmented. Expectation of sensations should be put aside. Was there ever absence of WTF in the courses of economy? Hardly so, therefore this descriptor itself is vague to describe period we find ourselves in. While speaking of weaknesses and needs of post-capitalism economy, I can only reference to book "Spiritual Capital" by Danah Zohar, that still awaits its prime time of wide recognition and acceptance.
Hi, I share the same luck, as you do - and would count in many factors: from the general youngish/naive appearance in days of youth, to late maturing in deeds with opposite sex, to bicycle and bikes-centered moving lifestyle, to high degree of analytical activities daily, to food mastering and enjoyment, to zero levels of drugs, smoking, and lately also alcohol, to slow-pace attitudes, but swift turns not at all uncommon, to frank, open, cheerful communication with other people, to feeling good, when helping somebody, to easy but spartan dealing with money. Summarizing: I think if one's attitude is based on vividness and is life-aligned, youngness is both the method, and reward.
Determination of Russia is applicable within its borders, the same goes for the rights of Ukraine. Being aggressor and liar is not as much relative, as some KGB-ists in power would want.
Not relevant in this case, as without professionally researching what exactly had happened, there is no point just exposing more of replacement equipment to the same unclear problem.
No, it is pretty scientific and realistic, you could at least have opened Wiki on author:
Zohar studied Physics and Philosophy at MIT and did postgraduate work in Philosophy, Religion & Psychology at Harvard University. She is Visiting Professor in the College of Management at Guizhou University in China. She was included in the 2002 Financial Times Prentice Hall book Business Minds as one of "the world's greatest management thinkers".
If system favors quantitative expressions of gains, how can it focus on values and qualities instead? The problem is, that dominant (now, that it is) system has got a problem - it is too short-sighted, too shallow, too separating, in theory market based, but in reality methodically destroying markets due to consolidations/buyouts. It is not seriously sustainable without refocus on qualities.
There is a wonderful book "Spiritual Capital", which should be recommended again and again to get the picture and ideas of cure.
Wasn't by chance somebody offering to supply replacements very attractively?
The case demands professional investigation, subsequent steps of isolation and future prevention would become rather obvious. This can be group of professionals, delegated by several institutions. They will be addressing the problem, and not at all legislation.
Like bad people did not strike. Then, what a server that is out of network.
Of course, dangers will be increasing, but compromises are part of reality for variety of reasons, they may be preceding another support deadline more often than not.
Sorry, you just do not get the extent and falseness of products this, and many other outlets produce in Russia with KGB servant as main man. He still serves KGB. At the moment his whole country is arranged to serve KGB. It was at least the other way round before.
i am certain there is organized political trolling in the USA as well, by the government and by organizations with agendas
Many documents were recently exposed during the truth to the people campaigns. Were there any certainties in particular, that made you certain? I am pretty certain, that you can have many variations of activities "to benefit" USA, but my imagination is refusing comparable activities of organized lie, that you are being introduced to now. I must say, I know Russian language, and even was raised in that very environment, that allows to get in depth understanding of what is up there. Can't see how comparable match could be organized and exist in USA, for example.
... 400 clearly skilled (bilingual at the least) individuals
What made you think, they are bilingual, or they are skilled at large? The point was, that majority of them are stupid. Only thin elite is bilingual. While majority of their production screams dumbness for any slightly intelligent observer. Thus, they are recognizable, and separable in general, can be well washed out, when the flow of information remains enabled.
Yes, they can be orchestrated into impressive campaigns, as illustrated. But they got a problem: you already know how they do work, you even seen where from they work, what are methods to clarify them, who are the people actuated, where the strings go, what interconnections exist. One such campaign has to be arranged and coordinated with significant preparation, while its effect is not warranted to be of big impact.
The main thing is: when you have KGB person at throne, you have to prepare appropriate attitudes.
One can find such a form of the name on FB, that wouldn't be straightforward to navigate to. Having said that, I must second getting rid of it altogether: deleted profile myself couple of months ago, and life became so much cleaner. It was worth, perhaps, to experience phenomena that it is, but this chapter was closed with as real a pleasure. Next step was to end with one major news concentrator, and life is obviously being claimed back. Slashdot tends to sound professional, thus firmly on board.
In the age of information abundance and free-flow, our real challenge is to tame it.
Many of my most interesting film shots exhibit exactly that painting approach. This is achieved by intuitive and playful application of cameras (moves, double exposures, overlapping, etc.), that themselves are either vintage or toy cameras (or both) with the plastic lenses, which are treating light rather differently, than glass exactness would. That freedom of expression and wait for results to appear is left unmatched by digital appliances. And it's as real, as material is film emulsion.
A lot of casual users discovered and joined Lomography and toy camera movements. These cameras are accessible and very playful, adding own character to resulting pictures. The problem with prosumer cameras is not only their upper pricing, but that they are quite boring with disposable digital as medium.
Strange to hear: I believe photographers are passing media with snapshots here where I live in Europe. While there can absolutely be no comparison of own snapshots to professional photographer service.
Since I am keen and current collector and analogue photographer, I could see similar thing happening, that is happening to vinyl records. There is surprisingly lot of buzz going on. Now most of action, however, shifted towards places like Flickr and eBay: good lenses are on sale for big money, good analogue cameras of the past do interest collectors in large numbers, and in all their variety, toy camera movement is noticeable and many outstanding plastic cameras are made again either with improvements or with more playful rebranding.
Thus, it shifted slightly, it may moved away from where traditional photo industry was, it may be unnoticed by everybody with a phone as camera in place of cameras for the masses, but it is thriving. Actually some analogue film manufacturing facilities are about to be restored (www.filmferrania.it). Everything became so much more accessible, and this fuels interests in photography, with a lot of pleasure along. Digital did not kill the film, I could only recommend anybody to rediscover joy of film shooting. Of course, for some digital may be covering their needs - here again stuff like lenses and such is still applicable too.
IE is decent utility browser. Nothing to write home about, but then that's what Microsoft does all the time, and still pleases its users in their needs. Can't comment from standards compliance viewpoint though, as "improving standards" is certain awful another of their rudiment deeds.

It is err to judge books without books.

Check for example completed sales of Holga, Diana on eBay, Lomography stuff offered online and in photo outlets. These all are using rolls of film.
