actually, I went to a college job fair and at that time I wasn't a citizen, so the NSA guys were so obnoxious they practically said "talk to the hand".
Now they have all kinds of new programs trying to attract people in my department and the military pulling youth recruits on the streets. My response is always shaking my head trying not to laugh while thinking "talk to the hand".
I remember we need a projector bulb replacement one time for a foreign guest lecturer and the staff said, sign this, apply this, take it there, get approval from this department, bla bla bla...
And the foreign guest speaker said, let's go out. And we bought the bulb for $30 at the local store.
Tell you what, it was damn worth it, even though it's from our own pocket.
Sign here, sign there...after 5 mins...Sign this...sign that... My immediate reply: Look you wanna start working or what? Get your stinking crap out of my sight.
Our time is precious. There are plenty of "honors" in serving our countries in many other areas.
These sort of thing is like blood suckers using people's compassion to make money.
Da Vinci and the ancients are smart enough to make their living and they are truly artists, they certainly don't need your hypocrisy. Find another line of work.
This immigration thing by Americans is just getting more and more funny.
First of all, how can a country be so rich while its neighbors so poor? American Embassies walls just keep growing higher and higher. Secondly, you really think you are that worth it? Don't forget, each of you have a large sum of national debt...even your every child and baby. What is it now, $40,000 per head? Thirdly, now you have to create money out of no where to keep your ways of living. That's pathetic...You simply just cannot perverse the natural order of things.
Go ahead now, get yourself detained at airports by your own people, for the sake of illegal immigrants, yea, sure. They take your jobs, blame all the terrorism and crimes on them while you lay satisfyingly in the detainee office and say "thank you uncle sam, we did it!"
When are these bloodsuckers gonna get that they are not getting a penny? Well, back to the good old days of reading books and borrowing VHS/DVD from the library.
I don't know about the software company part, as I am not much of a believer in such businesses (YEA! VIVA LA GNU!!!)
But it is common in many companies/organizations when the members are being bullied if they switch boat or step on two boats simultaneously.
Personally, I'm not worried about the recommendation part, from what I've seen and experience, negative recommendation could get one hired; while positive recommendation could get one denied. In the end, it is up to your skill and fruit that count.
