If you're the creative type then there's many options in the IT Industry. Marketing and Graphics are a big part of the IT Industry. Reporting and reviews. The list goes on for non-programming positions in IT.

What about gaming? Are you interested in that aspect?

  6. Re:XBox? on Gaming With An Opponent Who's 'Over There'? · · Score: 0

Have you ever priced Video Conferencing? You could buy thousands of Xboxes for what it would cost to even setup 2 video conferencing sites. Now you have to have each family go to the VC center etc.. that adds up...

They could also setup some Teamspeak or Ventrilo servers just for the military and their families. This way all one would need is a mic and an Internet connection.

Why don't you make a gaming system just for them and one for you.

Install XP Pro or Home (whichever you have) on each partition.

Give the kids admin to *their* OS partition. Wait for them to muck it up, reboot into *your* partition and play your games whilst laughing about how your OS partition works!!

Wow, my SMC would slow down my DSL connection until I restarted it (at least once per day). My ping times would be 5 times greater until I rebooted the router.

How does the heat affect the router if rebooting instantly fixes the problem. Wouldn't it need time to cool down?

Leo of TechTV said they bought a *Report* from one showing of "The Screensavers". He said TechTV couldn't afford to do this for every show but he did mention the value of this data.

It was basically just xx% of TiVo views FF thur this commercial or that segment etc...

    Very good stuff.

If we all FF'd thru the crappy commercials the advertiser's would create ones we'd be willing to watch. I don't know about you but I scan thru commercials at "3 arrows" and when something catches my attention I stop and view it.

You should check out a TiVo before you talke about Dish's PVR. The Dish PVR sucks. Once you go into the "PVR" mode it stops recording the channel and loses everything before then. This also happens when you do anything else other than browse the guide. On my TiVo and can record a show whil I'm watching a previously recorded show. TiVo is superior.
