Or if you're into being dark and mysterious, a constantly running app that dims all lights within 50' of your GPS location... people will know when you're coming...
There was a Space: 1999 episode something like this. But now I'm dating myself...
Just as well. If you're on slashdot, there's no chance of you dating another human being.
"is considered to be " according to individual states which stand to gain from such a consideration.
Sorry, you'll have to make a better case for internet sales taxes than "The tax collectors in my home state consider the sale to have been made in my home state."
Everyone considers it thus except for a few Paultards. If you buy something via Amazon, you are obligated by your state to declare that in some fashion (annually?) and pay sales tax on it.
The issue is not the tax itself, but rather who has to pay the state. You, the purchaser will pay someone, be it your state (which you are supposed to be doing if your locale has a sales tax) or Amazon, who will pass this on to the state on your behalf.
LILO is mostly dead, though. It was completely dead for many years until Joachim Wiedor stepped up to maintain it at a last minute just as it was going to get the boot from Debian. It still isn't kicking much.
An interesting point. Perhaps students should be put at the bottom of salt mines. Of course, we can't prevent interaction with neutrinos and other pesky particles, but what else can we do?
Unless he is getting paid for improved productivity, why on earth would he even consider paying for his own monitor? I'm not talking about a contractor position, but a bought and paid for employee.
Speaking of pedal power, I wonder how that human helicopter did the other day. Local news said the first flight didn't work, but a second one was scheduled.
Switzerland to Belgium. So it wasn't just a hop across an adjacent border. And, as the summary says, they were in the air for almost 13 hours.
Three hundred miles is what someone says further down the thread. Not far by standards of the northern half of the western hemisphere. So again, the headline shouldn't be pimping the international aspect, rather the time aspect (which IS impressive).
Too lazy to RTFA, but couldn't you have indicated the embarkation point? Austria to Switzerland? Not too interesting an international flight. New Zealand to Switzerland? Now we're talking.
More choice in the US in some matters without the hassle of expatriation. You like beaches? FL, CA, TX and others. Big mountains? The Rockies. Little ones? Appalachians. Plains? We've got them too. Big cosmopolitan city? There's NYC. Small towns? Flyover states.
Devil's advocate answer: ignorance of other cultures. Lack of a second language. Laziness. Inability to smell vegemite without throwing up in your mouth a little.
Winning.
Looks like Chris Crocker is white knighting for someone else now...
Should be getting the Cosby show about now.
Great. In another twenty years the vanguard of their invasion fleets will to arrive to destroy us and steal all our jell-o pudding pops...
They probably figure it a fair exchange for Leonard Part 6.
Must all be done by female coders as we all know men can't commit.
Why commit to a hypergamous harlot?

It's pining for the fjords.
It also takes more time/effort to switch to 'stun' with a shotgun.
You mentioned a joint, but forgot to insert it properly into your theory.
No way. That would be like Jack the Ripper to their existing business model.

Put them to work while they're down there?
Despite your claims to the contrary, sour grapes were not used in the making of my PB&J.

Quite stable and *nix stable are still worlds apart.
Shame that Linux =/= Unix.
I was concerned about the leopard.

The summary isn't good (Brussels Switzerland?), but the articles suck.
Hrm, Slashdot isn't raising its standards to meet the rest of the world, the rest of the world is lowering theirs to meet slashdot...
So it went through Switzerland, France, and Belgium?
Still not that impressive; I'm working on a boomerang capable of traveling across four US states, which I plan to test in New Mexico.
Make sure you pick your test site wisely or failure may result.
Regarding your .sig: is that old, I thought Apple was on the outs these days?

Slashdot: quality summaries since Chips and Dips.

You know, donkeynet used to be something completely different...
Yeah, but the percentage of shit content is slightly lower is this new version.
Does free will exist?
Is my sarcasm detector broke, or are you sincere in this comment?
Interesting that the first logged in reply is another that manages to see things from the perspective of others.
