    Am I the only one who thought this movie was terrible? Mccon...the main character's accent was absolutely terrible, the daughters acting was even worse, and it seemed to be full of contrived melodrama.

    Is "omg blackholes drag on space-time" really enough physics to make something so automatically accepted by "geeks"?

    Everyone's a farmer despite automation that just arbitrarily dissapeared? He drives a truck that would be old in the PRESENT?

    Hyperspace (presumably?) shown with a bunch of shelves because movies....and he quickly ends up EXACTLY where he wants to in the vastness of space AND time?

    I may be forgetting a few details...its been a bit, but I remember this movie as just...crap.

    It is handled automatically. If I do Integer.parseInt(n) where n is a string gathered from user input, and reads "122s5" it throws a numberformatexception.

    Just catch the exception and inform the user that he needs to knock that shit off. Or just let the user type a letter into that field in the first place.

    .net catches a lot of gried it doesnt deserve. Mono w/ xamarin is a great high level environment.

    Concurrency is even easier than java.

    Yeah even amc 24 (in a good area) in Houston which is shit..doesnt smell..3min for a ticket, is cold as fuck, and has reasonable volume....but $12 cokes and $15 popcorn.

    Movie tavern is amazing, reasonably priced food (REAL food - full meals), a full bar, and plush-ish office chair seating.

    Where do you live? Ukraine?

    Writing a program of appreciable complexity in C is a massive pain in the ass without pointers. It is also beyond the ability of junior C developers.

    In fact I don't know how you'd do any complex abstraction without function/struct pointers.

    Also pointers can be highly performant when used properly...

    Very, very few ovens have that sensor. Only the latest-and-greated which most people don't have, and even then not even close to all of them.

    There was the case where some of the weaponized agent got out and infected some people who were vaccinated.

    You do have a point, but I trust the Debian repos 100%. They are so behind that I figure if there was malware in them...someone would have said so by now.

    I have yet to hear of a single case of this happening. Granted, that could just mean they are better at covering their tracks..

    The vaccine is ineffective against the "cooked" strain which Russia tried to weaponize, and we keep at USAMRID. Look into the India-1 strain.

    The Russians actually attempted to we aponize the India-1 strain via refrigerated cluster bomb in the vector facility. They told us it was sewage treatment equipment when we inspected.
