it would be a safe bet to guess that M$NBC or any other M$ ownerized tv network won't be covering this without a significant deal of spin...while im sure AOL/TW owned networks will be barkin up the tree to find something through this story that will bury M$, we can only hope....one corporate giant crushed by another, hrmmm......which is the lesser of two evils?
the sad thing is that these people are just perfectly happy to get around their own little simplified (aka dumbed down) desktop world and never even bother to try something different because it takes a little more time to learn. even if you aren't going to be an intimate Linux user, you can still reap the benefits of Linux with more security, speed, customability, etc. The hard truth is that these people dont bother with it because they don't care enough about it, but im willing to bet that many more people might find that they have a geek in themselves, deep down, who really wants to learn about their computer, and how they can use it more effectively, they've just never given it a chance.
can't knock it til ya'v tried it;)
if this is true, then i have lost all faith in the world. what has it come to when i can't even have a little two hour escape without some commercial-pop-shit being rammed down my throat...be assured that my drinks/popcorn/knives are being thrown at the silver screen the moment one of those no-talent fucks steps on the scene....
PS> at least Amidala looks hotter in this one;)
wow, shows how long ive been out my little cyber-nitch, damn i need to get back in, been missin it.
last time i checked, BeOS had just come out with their new version of the BeOS for windows, i was sure that would draw a lot of new users to the platform, although i can see why Palm wants it so bad, they need to get a handle on their media capabilities. it's sad to see BeOS go under the corporate hand though, even though i was always more of a Linux man myself.
I have heard great things about MacOS X, especially with a Unix core, open source, and an obviously beautifully smooth desktop environment. haven't had the chance to try it since i dont own a Mac...but it seems worth investigating, might just have to check out this little book.
some one will always find a loophole in everything, and these anti terrorism laws are useless. once this starts, it will never stop, the control will fall further and further from our grasp as our country "tries to keep us safe". there is little we can do to stop this, apparently, as well, and so it becomes even more clear that we never did truly hold this "power".
eventually, our country will become so "protective of its freedoms" that we wont have any freedoms left to protect. it obviously didn't take long for the media and politics to fuck up this "positive" vibe we all thought we were getting. sad to see it,let the hipocrisy begin...

and you are possibly suggesting that other OS's are more secure? yeah, well you have fun running your web server on 98 or NT4 or Win2k and enjoy the series of hacker ass poundings that follow.
see the thing with *open* (~~why the hell did you put asterisks on shit like that?) software is that everybody makes a joint effort to donate to the security of the OS, by constantly looking and checking the code for holes, something you cant do in closed software. so you have fun with that *magical* winXP cuz it'll be the 1337'est! or not, enjoy the terminal butt humping action when fred the prison hacker comes out to play. ~latez
yes...yes they are, and i believe we should all paint our faces red and black and run around the cities of our origin aimlessly in order to celebrate the hardcoreness of the Sith!
Hell yeah, mandrake is a sweet distro, and heres why:
- Its Awesome for all kinda of Linux users, both novice and advanced because of its easy to use, but powerful front end
-its good for the end user and server side; personal experience, i used Mandrake 8.0 to run a Counter-Strike game server, itll be interesting to see the improvement in 8.1
-its all around, since its support range is huge
The US fears what it doesn't understand, and when situations become complex, to them it seems "better" to just throw what they don't understand into a jail cell.
Why must burden of ignorance lay upon the shoulders of the wise?

the live action show sucks much...however, the animation was pretty damn funny.
