this will be easily stopped by adding a filename prefix or suffix. There goes this script kiddie's while about experimental software not being perfect.
So a script kiddie found a vulnerability on an experimental filesystem.
There are warnings not to use btrfs in a stable envioronment EVERYWHERE, as its in development and pretty buggy. But its the amazing feature set that btrfs offers even if its still pretty broken and you cannot rely on it without doing daily backups...... and all this script kiddie is concerned about are colliding hashes on a shared envioronment, what is pretty uncertain, as this will not happen naturally? A btrfs filesystem becomming corrupt because it fills up would be something to care about at this time.
its the people, that demand as little priceas as possible.
if you get a TV for 300€, cou cant expect it to live loger than a TV with the same feature set that costs 1000€. But buying 300€ products and crying when the lower quality components die is somehow... funny
These guiys dont seem to care about winbloat and their walledgarden 2.0 Now i wont even need to think of, what to use: mplayer or vlc. vlc just disqualified itself.
The irony is, that Suckerberg announced that email was dead.
+1
Sure there is! Dunno where you live, but here we have credit cards and bank cards, which are something TOTALLY diffrent
coca cola would want to buy their info too...
givr them all guns. that will sort out the problem...
If we got weed, we could lesser the use of alcohol, which is massively overused here.

do you have write access to their filesystem?
Or do you just have write access to some database where you can tah the data with a "filename"?

Any proof for that claim? Or are you just spouting crap?
Thats a reason, why all people should prefer small autonomous over global decentralised over centralised networks for communication.
Killing off one centralised service is easy.
If you have enought control, you can even cut a global decentralised network into 2 or more.
But try killing off 100000 of small autonomous networks - if they are not even known - and noone knows them all - , how should they be killed?
they did: Div/0 ?
does really anyone play that crap?
as phantomfive already said: sensationalism
just read the article, there are at least links to response articles.
Therefore it holds that the story was not made up by torrentfreak.
