My guess would be that healthcare.gov runs on top of an Oracle DB already, so Oracle probably has a few engineers that can be brought in to help identify and restructure problematic queries and/or tweak server settings to eek out a bit more performance. It's also a distinct possibility that the back end is in Java, so Oracle has a few knowledgeable Java engineers too.
In two months the site will be using Oracle and Ellison will charge the Feds a fortune for the license fees.....
Yea you gotta believe Larry is foaming at the mouth at this. Selling them a named-user license and getting paid for every man, woman, and child in the US? Cha-Ching!!!
SkunkWorks? Don't they design aircraft? What in the world would an advanced airframe design company want with a rock with a camera in it? And for sure they wouldn't have to hire a sub to design it if they did...
My wife works for a hospital system and they are still on XP and have no migration plans as of yet. I think there are enough companies like that out there that will force M$ to continue patch support past the 4/8/14 deadline...
I used to work for the Big-O. Bottom-line is king there. That's why I had to quit. I understand the legalise of this situation. However, you have a bunch of folks out there still running Solaris w/o maintenance contracts. And if they don't update the OS with patches, they are vunerable to security hacks which hurts everyone in the long run. I wish Oracle would let folks update their software w/o contracts but that doesn't help the bottom-line and we all suffer for it....
I could see something like this useful in law inforcement. Rather than train a LEO to draw blood or have a medical professional there, have a machine like this. I for one would NOT let a LEO stick me with a needle....
Really??? Is anyone going to be listening to these folks?? "Consumerization of IT in the Enterprise (CITE)" isn't exactly Gartner which sadly is who most large IT shops take queues from.
AT&T would be required to let customers out of their contracts without an early termination fee if it raised prices, but it is avoiding this by simply calling the increase a 'surcharge'
Nobody. Obama and his cronies are un-touchable.
Webserver? Middleware? Database? Hardware??

With 12KB of memory I would think it would have a wee bit of trouble loading the kernel...
I've seen strip club tabs higher than that...
go to XDA and search for BBM-release.apk
Drunk for five years straight??? Must have been a hella of a hang over after being drunk that long!!!
If steroids are involved maybe the baseball field???
I agree. Lockheed Martin does a lot more than just aviation. But Lockheed Martin Aeronautics - SkunkWorks mission is advanced airframe design.
See "Estimated annual revenue" -- $20K
I guess $10M for this shiny rock would bolster the annual revenue a tad...
$10M for a Styrofoam rock with some electronics inside? I would hope there would be enough cushion for worldwide shipping... ;)

Every piece of technology we use is made in China. And we're just now thinking about this??? Duh!!!

I'm having no problem bringing up the article...
Yu Darvish and every knuckleballer ever would like a word with you...
Good luck understanding him...
Amen. And electronic scoring of pitches!
