a surface pro is the better solution over the macbook air if one must stick with the microsoft camp IMO. light weight, compatible with everything, and in the same price range as the air. Add in the fact that it can be a tablet or a laptop
Well,
I guess we can perhaps forgive the author of said article.
From a buying point if few, a mainframe and a Hollerith machine are no difference.
But from an ethical point of view, there is a difference between tracking which Jews you have killed, and keeping track of running times or pulse rates.
No, unfortunately it's a fitness and evolution thing. The minute you bring grain bags to a starving remote village, the hunger goes away and then they immediately start having sex and cranking out more needy humans. You can see this in dependent villages, you'll notice frequency banding in the ages of the children, all conceived at roughly the same time coinciding with aid drops.
Feeding the hungry sounds great, the hungry will multiply until you can't feed them all.
Yes, that's why in rich Western countries we have a massive population explosion because no one is starving. Oh, wait...
Sorry, I forgot, it only applies to poor brown people on different continents.
I'll concede that, though his actions showed a callous disregard for human life. I can't figure out anything Snowden did that got anyone killed. Manning almost certainly resulted in some people being outed and snuffed.
As opposed to the illegal actions he was whistleblowing on?
Well, it was, but because of... political factors... he had to disguise it as fiction, so instead of the title being 1948 it was 1984, and a few other things changed, e.g. he was reporting on Spain.
"The cameras in every house" were a part of his metaphor for an extensive network of spies such that you couldn't trust anyone.
You mean he needed an extra metaphor for an extensive network of spies in addition to the extensive network of spies already mentioned in the book? The network that, unlike the cameras, actually lead to arrests of thought criminals.
Apple had the most profitable quarter ever recently and is the most profitable company in the world. How do you do that without heavy markup?
You don't get highly profitable by adding a huge markup. Instead, you have to do two things: First, make production of your product as efficient as possible so that production cost plus markup isn't too high. Second, create a product that is so good that people buy it instead of competing products, even at the higher cost.
Congratulations, you have just defined "markup"!
Congratulations, you have just defined "dumb" - there is a picture of you.
A 64GB iPhone 6 is $750, not $900. And those who are price conscious can get a 5S from $550.
And they'll last longer than 2 years. The 2 year thing applies to people who have contracts that let them get a new phone after 2 years. Since we're talking unlocked prices, that's irrelevant. People will tend to use them longer.
And the same 2 years go for Android phones - the difference is, the iPhone will be sold for a couple hundred bucks or given to a family member you love. The Android will be given to someone you don't like much or goes straight to the trash.
I think it would increasingly create problems with EU legislation not to have USB port on telephone (AFAIK, so far they are circumventing this using adaptor, which is risky move with regulators). And USB-C is finally "good enough" for them not to push too hard on this, for banning iPhone in EU altogether would be a nightmare for them.
Actually, that requirement died over a year ago, because none of the manufacturers wanted to continue to support "standard" micro-USB.
I looked at your previous posts on any subject - and you turn out to be a complete lunatic who is constantly proving his wrong points with outdated data. Fuck You.
At least I'm an amateur lunatic. I do it for the love of the lunacy, not because I'm part of some "New Media Strategy" to pimp someone's stock price.
By all appearances, you are a pro, and it appears that you are now admitting as much.
So admit you are spreading lies because you are a lunatic, but can't actually prove what you claim about me. Because that's another of your insane lies. Thanks for clearing that up.
I'm sceptical that Lightning is more robust than Micro USB, but even if it is that still misses the most important point. Micro USB is designed so that the cable will fail long before the socket on the device does
To bad most implementations fail to follow the design, and break like hell.
The real problem is that RJ-45 is much too big for a notebook over an inch thick - the weird solutions I've seen on non-Apple notebooks speak volumes. Solutions nobody would accept on an Apple product.
The rj-45 on my 13" 2012 (?) macbook pro is just fine.
That's because it's an Apple. Other manufacturers have (even on thicker notebooks) either put the Ethernet-port in a bulge thicker than the rest of the computer, turned the port so the locking flap is always pressed (and the cable can easily be removed by accident), or use an proprietary adapter.
You really needed to dig out an article over a year old to "prove" your point?
The first quarter of 2015 hasn't reported yet.
Who fucking cares? There have been 5 quarters reported since the one you point to (fucking read the date already, your data is for Q3 2013, and those quarters before have also been reported, and you picked out the one where Apple lost marketshare, to prove that Apple is losing marketshare. Do you really still want to make the point that Apple is bleeding customers?
BTW, is there a reason why you picked numbers for the US market only? Oh, yeah, to prove your point by cherry picking data.

Most of the hardware in a Mac laptop is off-the-shelf stuff, developed by other companies. I haven't checked but I expect it is an Intel chipset.
If you are right, there shouldn't be a problem just installing Windows whatever on a Mac.
a surface pro is the better solution over the macbook air if one must stick with the microsoft camp IMO. light weight, compatible with everything, and in the same price range as the air. Add in the fact that it can be a tablet or a laptop
... means its a fucking compromise. http://daringfireball.net/2013/02/the_c_word

Didn't know Kosovanians were brown...
That's not a mugging. Without violence it's not mugging, it's just theft.
You don't "hand over" something to someone who snaps it from your hands.
My point being that if the guy has a knife/gun on you and tells you "give me that phone", he could just as well say "password?".
Or he could just take it, and commit a lesser crime that takes less time and thus has a lower chance to get caught.
It's rather worse if it gets stolen from your pocket.
What situation would make you hand over your phone but not your pass?
Snap and run?
You worry too much. With two factor authentication in place there's no chance the theif will be able to get the verification code!
So? That means he can't get your data "in the cloud" - but the phone is his to use
I think they are trying to be clever and play on the term China Syndrome, where the fuel melts all the way through the earth to it's Antipodal point.
Wouldn't gravity stop the material at Earth's core though?
Why would it? If you dig a deep hole, you'll dig all the way to China, too.
What "illegal actions"? Military and intelligence operations aren't subject to your bullshit ideas of "illegality". Nice try, lefty.
Geneva Convention, you moronic war criminal. Were you just following orders murdering civilians?
And anyone that wants to improve their looks is a fat-shaming shitlord.
And anyone trying to help them is an evil dictator.
I'll concede that, though his actions showed a callous disregard for human life. I can't figure out anything Snowden did that got anyone killed. Manning almost certainly resulted in some people being outed and snuffed.

Defense from who, exactly?
Russia still occupies (formerly?) German territory that it annexed and stationed military units in (including nuclear weapons).
You are confusing that with Poland, both ways. Russia still occupies former Polish territory, and Poland as a replacement got former German territory.

By not selling at a loss, unlike most others. And by selling more phones than every other company but Samsung (and being head-to-head with them).

nearly all anti-science people are Republicans
Explain anti vaxxers
Explain Michele Bachmann then.
I was only pointing out that we never see these breakdowns unless they are to show the "rednecks" are the bad ones.
Funny how you were the one who started with "breaking down" to state levels.
Except the trend has continued. Apple still isn't back to pre-2013 market share for computers.
Except that you are wrong, and that you admitted you are lying, and that you of course can't back it up.
At least I'm an amateur lunatic. I do it for the love of the lunacy, not because I'm part of some "New Media Strategy" to pimp someone's stock price.
