iPhones have been burning and apple doesn't care and apple trolls denies about them and blames the users
There are about two dozen cases of iPhones "burning" or "exploding" or "swelling". Most of them were due to faulty third party (IOW cheap Chinese) chargers, most others happened after the device was subjected to a great force damaging the battery. That's about 20 cases out of over a billion iPhones sold in 9 years.
You can pretend that's in the same ballpark as a good dozen more Note 7 burning in a few weeks out of 2.5 million devices shipped just because (or so the latest "software fix" suggests) it was charged to more than 80% of capacity.
Oh, for crying out loud, I think the staff at the Wall Street Journal have a better idea than you of what's going on. I never paid to subscribe to any sites, so maybe they just like me...
Maybe I should inform you that you hacked their system. Because for most people who didn't pay that article is paywalled. PERIOD.
Quote #1 is sourced - it's credited to the Wall Street Journal staff right at the top, on the same line as the date: 9:39 AM EST AUG 30, 2016
Oh, the old "the article is the source for its own claims" tactic. Nope, that won't work on Wikipedia either, you have to find some other article that quotes that article first.. It's still bullshit then, but at least you made an effort.
Quote #2 is about the illegal deal between Apple and Ireland. The EU has determined the deal is illegal. If Apple disagrees, they can take the EU to court. Until they do successfully overturn it, the ruling stands.
And yet no money actually flows until there's an actual court decision
Quote #3 is STILL not behind a paywall. Maybe they just don't like you...
Oh? "To Read the Full Story, Subscribe or Sign In " after the first paragraph means it's fucking paywalled. Maybe they like you because you paid up? And maybe you paid up because they say what you want to hear? And maybe they confirm your bias because there's money in doing that.
If I wanted to be listening to somebody who pays people to tell them exactly what they want to hear, I'd be watching Donald Trump now.
It may be true that no other company had done this. But I don't know whether that can qualify as anti-competitiveness since they'd have to show other companies being denied such a blessing.
That won't be hard - how many companies had to pay 0.005% tax? Oh, noone including Apple
So, speaking time should be determined by genitals?
It shouldn't be. According to the summary it is: "The reporter noted that at iPhone 7 event, women spoke for roughly eight minutes at stage compared to men, who spoke for 99." That is what's being criticized.
So the writer of TFA would actually have been happier if instead of the managers responsible for the products introduced Apple had hired some booth bimbos to present them? Hooray for feminism!
So there was no gender stereotyping when Grace Hopper became an Admiral in the US Navy and computing pioneer in the 50s?
Errm, back then programming wasn't for real men, they did real work. Programming was for women and gays like Alan Turing. It only became when there was money to be made - and then they kicked out all the women.
It's like cooking. At home women are supposed to cook, but not when cooking for money.
Observation of daily activity is limited by security policies at every corporation, and media events spotlighting such larges companies are the primary insight into them available for the public. Try again.
And Women stole the show at Apple's developers keynote - the beef of the article is that Apple has the people responsible for a product on stage to introduce it. And Apple focused on 2 (hardware) products in the "September Event", and both are managed by men. While at WWDC the women responsible for the software running on those devices presented that.
Which according to the claims made elsewhere in this discussion obviously means Apple targets hardware at men and software at women.
That's refreshing to know. So I xcan install Pokemon Go on any Android device that will run it, or even just log onto a friend's install on an android and deny Apple the 30% markup they want for coins I purchase.
Instead paying the 30% to Google. You truly are sticking it to The Man.
No, I specifically said federal income tax. Correct, Idaho can't do that, and neither can Ireland do what they did. A "higher" authority (U.S. Gov / EU) then steps in to correct the situation.
But there is no EU income tax Ireland illegally set. Thus your analogy fails. Period. Even if a higher authority can decide that the deal was wrong, it's still the state income tax that was set.
The other party can assume anything, that doesn't make it true.
Imagine if a US state signed a deal with ISIS to sell them nuclear warheads. Should ISIS still receive the warheads if the federal government later says no?
Actually, as soon as TTIP is settled, ISIS Inc. could sue the US government in a corporate court for billions in damages and some nukes on top. And supposedly Apple could sue the EU
He made a specific claim, I asked for evidence for that specific claim, he failed to provide it, instead he shifted goalposts. And you still declare him winner, claiming I shifted goalposts .
Jesus Christ, admit that he didn't know what he was talking about, and admit his defeat before looking dumb yourself. If you aren't one of his sockpuppet accounts, you can do that.
Yes... Ireland took in just under 7 Billion Euros in corporation tax in 2014-2015. The UK took in just over 55 Billion Euros in corporation tax in the same period.
Being the largest payer when you are paying in pennies means fuck all in the grand scheme of things.
Ireland got a shit deal. The UK still got the jobs.
Yeah, until you bother with the fact that the UK has more than 10 times the GDP pf Ireland. Then only getting 8 times the taxes looks like the shittier deal.
Apple came up with this method in the 1980s. It's been well known for a lot longer than any silly NYT article.

Wow, you really suck at proving your point. Thanks for providing no evidence whatsoever for your claim. Hint: your article about the Double Irish doesn't mention Apple, and the article about Apple taxes in Ireland doesn't mention the Double Irish.
Or is the problem that you don't even know what your point is?

Why did you write genital's with an apostrophe, but not guidelines or policies ?
Probably because he is possessed by genitals.

Fuck mic.com
They went and nitpicked to the weakest part of Apple's response and blew it out of proportion.
And even then they had to cut of half of that part to make it look lame.
They also excluded people who weren't dorks, but that's another discussion...
Even if you don't want to count Shigeru Miyamoto, the guy loved by most dorks, as one - they had that Instagram guy with the flashy shirt.

If you call someone a pitiful idiot, you should probably expect to be modded down. That's not moderation abuse.
It is if the guy in question is a pitiful idiot. The proper moderation is "Insightful".
Please send in your Samsung Galaxy Note 7 immediately. Preferably via Air Mail. Signed ISIS
What do batteries catching fire have to do with printers?
One-time thermal printers!
Of course, only idiots such as you would buy a phone that required a battery replacement after only two years.
Or two weeks as in this case.

Apology accepted.

Laws should always be focused on intent rather than wording.
Oooh, touchy feely. Are you a SJW by chance?
If you can't put your intend in words, you shouldn't make laws.

The EU treaty covers this. The EU supercedes.
Unless the European Court of Justice decides the ruling was wrong. The EU treaty covers this.
Double Irish with a Dutch Sandwich has existed as a tax strategy, founded by Apple and approved by Ireland, since the late 1980s.
That's not backed up by your "evidence"
That reminds me: did you work on Samsung's legal team? Their evidence was similarly lacking.
Seriously? You can't use google? Or wikipedia?
here's a pdf from the first footnote on the wikipedia article. It's an article written in 2007. http://www.gtlaw.com/portalres...
