    QuickTime asks you to upgrade on the first application start of each day it's used.

    BEFORE starting QuickTime change your date to a MUCH higher year e.g. 2020.

    Then start QuickTime.

    When asked to "Why upgrade?" click "Later." NOTE: giggle to your self at this point.

    QuickTime won't ask you to upgrade again til the first time you use it in 2020.

    Oh yeah ... change your date back at this point.

    I once had a computer damaged whilst in shipping ... with no insurance. Doh!

    The damage was minimal but I needed to figure a way to ensure there was no damage the next time.

    I realized the damage occurred when the different assembled components were flexed, jostled, dropped ... whatever.

    Duh! Disassembled components travel independently - like packet switching.

    Also, most components don't need a package - just write your name and address on the component case (slap a label on it if it's a card or something) affix postage and drop in the mailbox ... problem solved.

    Shipping all the parts ASSEMBLED is just begging for problems.

    Shortly after reading this story I looked up how hard drives work and tore a couple broken ones apart.

    The arms move crazy fast due to their linear actuated motors with very sexy magnets that can do neat tricks with my pack of cigarettes through the bar room table - the waitress actually yelped.

    They F-ed up another perfectly good movie with a lame-ass, hail-mary attempt to end the movie.

    I guess they didn't realise that moldy bread is the only TRUE interstellar lifeform.

    I've stopped washing (everything) in fear of the damnation I'll recieve for throwing all that "rotten" food away.

    I used to work and smoke in a smoking office in the US. We all smelled like we'd been in a bar all day and that smokey amber color is really hard to get off the Macs.

    Now I'm in a non-smoking office and treasure my smoke breaks where I go outside and focus my eyes on things that are far away.

    I will quit someday (hopefully by choice and not lung cancer) but smoking forces me to leave the office. No phones, no idiot boss, just pretty trees and sweet, sweet nicotine.

    We can sort by zip code in the US and in your preferences you'd type in your zip and specify how many numbers in difference you'd filter in.

    EXAMPLE: I am in Grand Rapids, MI at 49503-4102. CmdrTaco, Hemos and others are in Holland, MI [methinks] at 49424 or there abouts. So if I set my zip preferance to +/- 100 it should filter in everything happening within 1-2 hours driving time.

    Now those of you with enough free time/money/frequent flier miles who are gonna try to get to this party in Calif., but don't live there, can kiss my brown eye.
