    Why would anyone buy an iPhone in the third quarter, when it was widely rumored Apple was set to introduce a new iPhone beginning of Q4? (in other words, the only meaning market share numbers for this industry are annualized.)

    Not gonna happen. They do an annual fall release.

    in CA all the utility power is "decoupled", which means that electricity is sold at cost while the utility makes all of its money of off its installed infrastructure. This way they don't give a hoot if you get your electrons from a power plant or a solar panel. in fact, every person who installs a solar panel needs a utility upgrade to connect it to the grid, and the utility makes $$ off of that in perpetuity.

    Much of the us infrastructure was built prior to 1900, when end uses we're capped at 110 volts for reliability. Much of the European infrastructure was built after 1900, when the end use limitations were solved. So they did 220 v since it w as more efficient.

    First mover problem.

    100% agreed. Most professionals agree that you should need a license to handle anything above 110V.

    One thing that isn't brought up enough when discussing external expansion is external power supplies. So much for compact size.

    The power supply is built into the Mac Pro. See the photos of the ports.

    goog loves naive people to use their service so they can slurp up more info than NSA. inb4 everybody else is the same: bing is better because goog has both adsense and double-click, which lets them track people across the entire internet. bing has less capability to track people outside of their site.

    I miss the Xserves too, but Apple just wasn't selling enough of them to justify the engineering time required to stay in that line of business.
