Not to mention that the tech industry as a whole now intentionally refuses to use standards that Apple endorses.
Like AAC a few years ago, with people calling it an Apple tech. FaceTime is not likely to get much support although it's better than a lot of other video chat tech by solving the firewall problems most consumers have with their video calls and auto adapting to bitrate changes. Thunderbolt is now labeled an Apple tech and to fight the 800lb gorilla I'm afraid much of the industry will avoid it in hopes they can make it fail.
Or maybe like firewire a few cents difference can make or break a chipset.
I know it's hard to make a living these days, but what you're doing now can do very long term damage to your self-image and feelings of self-worth. There's an online fitness instructor who was able to get out of the porn business by doing amateur fitness videos on youtube. You may be interested in her story of how that change came about and how much happier she became.
I'm only mentioning this because you're stuck in your position, I'm not judging you for it.
Yeah there's definitely a few "this happened, make of it what you will" stories in the Bible. I like your point about NOT requiring the sacrifice shows that the Jehovah was different than Baal, Molech and others gladly taking child sacrifices on a daily basis.
On the Abraham story, there's a few important details that often get left out. First of all, recall that when Isaac was conceived Abraham was 99 years old and his wife was 90. Previously they were unable to conceive and his wife laughed when an angel told her she would have a son. The only reason they had that child at all was due to a miracle. Later in the Bible it was pointed out that Abraham saw a kind of resurrection regarding his and his wife's reproductive abilities. So through that experience Abraham knew that by extension God had the ability to raise the dead.
Secondly, God had promised Abraham that his family would grow to a huge number and that it would be through that same son Isaac that it would happen.
This only explains that Abraham had reason to believe his son would be raised up if he did kill him as God commanded. But it doesn't excuse the abhorrence of the command that was given.
The third part, which is very crucial is that the story is intended to offend. It's in the Bible for a very good reason, not to teach us "Kill your kids for God" but to make you think "That's terrible! I would never kill my kid for anyone!" Because you're supposed to feel that, you're supposed to be angry and then you're supposed to learn that Abraham and Isaac foreshadowed Jesus' sacrifice when his father sent him down to earth knowing exactly how it would end.
It's supposed to teach us a little bit of empathy and have an appreciation that it wasn't an easy thing for even God himself to do. That's why immediately after Jesus died there were earthquakes that threw the dead out of their graves, the sun blacked out and the huge curtain in the temple was ripped in half. He was actually holding back but letting us know that "Yes I felt that".
So Abraham was willing to sacrifice his son but didn't have to go through with it. God was willing to sacrifice his son for us, and did go through with it. That's the lesson.
The distinction is whether or not it's direct interaction on the screen or by using the touch pads. I don't think Steve Jobs nor Apple have ever changed their minds on a touch screen desktop, the Magic touchpad or whatever is enabling their laptop experience on the desktops. Using a multi-touch Macbook with Lion is pretty nice with all the 2, 3, 4 and 5 finger gestures you can play around with. It's all optional and works well with the usual mouse paradigm.
This really seems to be how they're "merging" the OS'. Not the physical interaction parts being merged, but the underlying code and APIs. Apple has been pretty good at understanding that different screen sizes demand different layouts and use-cases, it would be pretty strange for them to make a 27" touch screen given all their talk of gorilla arm.
But then again Apple has a history of trashing stuff they later adopted.
I firmly believe that starting with Carly HP's stock has been purposed trashed so it could be shorted and then pop back up when the "problem" is removed. Once you get that big you can no longer raise your stock by leaps and bounds, it's time to play yo-yo with the stock price and hope you don't sink the ship.
But if you do there's still ways to profit from it...

Actually in most religions the apostate is the most hated enemy. I believe in the Catholic church, speaking out contrary to official teachings is just about the only way to get excommunicated these days.
A thermal camera along with a study of various insulators such as foams, plastic, types of glass panes.
Make some kind of DIY motor that runs on snow. Should work given temperature differences. And has a nice "But that's impossible!" factor.

DIY plastic bag recycling by boiling them in a pan. You can make nice strong plastic this way. Heck bring a mold and make some kind of knick knack they get to take home. Be sure it has a logo and website stamped on it somewhere.

If you wanna go with most reads in a bookstore coffee shop you really must include something like "Learn Java in 21 days". MILLIONS must have read that baby back in the day.
Strangely for me I had a different experience. I was also learning to touch type on my own at home at the same time. For whatever reason the daily switch from manual typewriter to keyboard prevented me from getting any good at it. Once I failed the typing class and only used computers my typing speed immediately went up to 100 wpm.
It could be better, but only because of social policies enacted by the Chinese government to ensure that they have a large population of workers desperate enough to take any work they can

It's an interesting thought experiment though. If someone wagered $1,000,000 and lost would you be able to take their life's savings away from them?
If you imagine two people and a one on one transfer of money it makes the concept of gambling seem a lot more harmful than when the money is spread out among many gamblers.
I've got Aspergers and it always used to stress me out anytime I had to travel. Even if I knew exactly where I was going, still the potential of making a wrong turn or having my route blocked would make me dread going places.
Now with my GPS I can travel with a smile. Even if I've been a certain way 100 times just having it with me completely eases my mind and let's me focus on other things. I totally recommend getting a GPS to anyone with travel anxiety or any type of panic attacks.
Also strangely by joining OpenStreetMap I'm motivated to explore my environment to find new places not yet mapped, I can honestly say I've seen just about every street in my town now compared to in the past when I'd always take the exact same routes.

I agree with your points but add that you can't run your own apps on the iPad without paying the $99 a year developer fee.
XCode and the simulator are free though.
This is the longest I've ever seen their website down. Come to think of it, I've never seen it down before.
Whoop, it's up. That was a solid 10 minutes at least.

Neat fact: My grandfather could only play pool while drunk. When sober his hands would shake and ruin all his shots.
A few drinks to warm up, then he'd be running the table.

Wonder how the class divide and inability to buy a new car will affect that vision.
