*sigh* Roblimo and so many others here seem to be after love to see what they can *get* out of it, not what they can give back to it. Here is the key to real love:
*AHEM*
If I speak in the tounges of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging symbol. If I have the gift of prophesy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and have a faith that can move a mountain, I am nothing. If I give all I posess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love NEVER fails.
So, Rob's still begging for hardware I see... seems like with the money he made from Slashdot he could just go out and buy one of these with his pocket change...
Not really. Just teach that our origins are not certain. Science thinks that evolution is true, and that that is the only possible explanation without a God, but that many people believe God really did create us, and evidence exists to back them up. It doesn't even have to touch the Bible.
Uuuhh, I've read the Bible... plenty of it in fact... and I don't believe you. Quite the opposite is true in fact.
Jesus spent most of His time on earth amidst sinners, cheaters (tax collectors), adulterers, unreligious people, and general nincompoops. And He *loved* them!
Check it out. Their are lots of us Christian geeks out there.
Don't be alarmed - Jesus warned that the world would hate us and Paul told us to consider it pure joy when we are persecuted for our faith. Satan has a lot of people here by the you-know-what...
For a while after I saw this on Saturday, I thought it well might be true. I mean, think about it - everything they're suggesting is fairly easily doable, and some of it actually makes sense.
Basically, I thought they were well intentioned folks who drank a little too much Mt. Dew.:-)
And I agree - I'm also a devout Christian and UNIX terminology doesn't bother me (although saying "daemon" *did* take a little getting used to, and I try to avoid the word when around family and friends).
We can probably assume that that contract only holds true for the stuff Corel developed. The "product" would be the CD as a whole, but obviously they can't restrict your use of GPL'd parts of the CD.
All they need to do to comply with the GPL is offer an FTP site for the source code of all GPL'd programs and derivatives thereof.
If they don't do even that, THEN they're violating the GPL and should change their ways or action should be taken against them.

Make sure your CD-ROM is mounted. I was also wondering why my movies weren't playing anymore, until I realized the computer was rebooted and the CD-ROM wasn't remounted!
RE: Speed
I run it on a Cyrix 6x86 166 with 64MB and the speed isn't too bad. It even has a 2X CD-ROM and the videos play (the requirements said it needs 4X). Of course, if Netscape is also running, switching between them is quite slow. But the game is certainly playable.
I agree - I'll take this and RailRoad Tycoon II any day over a stupid shoot-em-up.
The US State Department is WAY paranoid. They make it sound like if a US citizen has ever been a victim at a certain place, you're doomed if you go there.
Yes, it's a VERY bad thing. If it weren't for banner ads, then all the sites you go to with banners would either be nonexistent or would make you pay. And more people would look to spam for Internet advertising. That is NOT cool.
Banner ads suck, but they're a necessary evil. They are one of the few legitimate ways to advertise on the Internet.
Why does the kernel paging mechanism depend on the file system? The swap partition is a totally seperate type from the FS - it's Linux swap and not formatted as ext2. So it seems like the main FS type would be irrevelent to paging.
But then, I'm not a kernel hacker. This was more a question and/or a hunch than offering advice.
Does anyone know how WELL they work with USB? I want to buy a scanner soon but Linux compatibility is ESSENTIAL, and I don't want tons of headaches getting it working. Is there a reasonably stable SANE driver? Any experiences?
I'm just *sure* I read last year that ORA was planning a Postgres book, and have been looking forward to it. But it hasn't come!
Why not??? I'll buy it in a heartbeat! It's a very logical program for ORA to support - it's big, complex, and open source. And it has a lot of users. What gives???
YES! I can't wait to get this game. RT was my favorite game ever, and RT2 looks even better.
I recently bought Civ:CTP to whet my appetite, and am getting rather addicted to it. It's the first Civ game I've ever played.
But it has a problem: It crashes (coredumps). That just isn't cool. It happened on my Cyrix 6x86 system both times I ran it over an hour.
Then I moved it to the Pentium II, and it has only crashed once in about a week of hard play. That's acceptable I guess, but I hope they fix it.
Has anyone else had CTP crash? I think it's mostly a Cyrix CPU bug (Povray crashes on it ALL the time). But something's got to be up since it did it once on the P2.
Wow, that was convincing. PLEASE guys, quit programming cryptography! The only people who should have cryptography are the US Government(TM) and Microsoft! If anyone else has it, he might be tempted to become a terrorist or a child abuser!
Yeah - WAIT.
:-)
You don't NEED to date yet. Seriously. Not being rude, it's just the truth. Just be friends with them and wait until you're old enough to drive.
I'm 25 and have never dated anyone. And I'm reasonably happy!

So... is *your* relationship like that???

That's been around for a LONG time! At least since 4.5, maybe 4.0.

Unisys has stated that they have a policy of not using OSS.

SCREW stupid laws. Just don't get caught. :-)
(No, I'm not doing it, I'm not a crypto guy. So if you're the feds and are chasing me, you're just wasting your time.)
Uh-oh. Does that mean it's time to sell my Corel stock?
And it has been doing so well lately.... *sigh*
We use GD/Perl. The output needs to be readable by anyone, including WebTV users.
1. Does the new GD (which produces PNG) have a Perl interface yet?
2. Does WebTV support PNG? (Probably not..)
Is there any way around this? It is a commercial environment, not that that matters.
This is crap. How can a SOFTWARE patent apply to data files transfered over the Web???
It will never stand.
hahahahaha!
The Associates was what I was refering to when i said that MBNA sucked "but not as bad as my first CC company".
hehehe
