And people ask me why I run Linux. Well I actually run it because it's secure, plays well with my hardware and has all the software I need to do my work, but next time I'll tell them about this little gem as well..
to resolve this situation: make it opt-in. I know they're trying to finally make some money, but this will hurt them in the long run on that level as well. This type of thing, intrusive internet advertising on the desktop, it's what they call "untenable". People who want that much integration with the internet will surely buy a Chromebook and run Linux, *and* still not have ads on their desktops.
Not, he's not bashing Ubuntu phone, mostly because such a thing does not exist - yet. He is criticizing Canonical's less than sincere approach to the rest of the world. That's all.
How was it trolling? Why doesn't the article state what OS those laptops were running? Hmm? Because it's the most insecure OS known to mankind, Windows, and it doesn't even have to be said any longer? Or because the writers are pathetically unprofessional and are deliberately withholding the facts here? Either way, I don't know.
In your comment I detect touching faith in American government’s care for American lives and security. But let’s not go as far as China is search of expendable human beings to be sent to Mars. Let’s scoop up those south Asian families that have been dying in their dozens, and in their sleep, in American drone strikes. I think they would prefer a trip to Mars anyway.
The EU needs to go back to its economic cooperation origins and drop the attempts to establish a political dictatorship completely. Such as it is, it's a disgraceful spectacle on so many levels.
But what would be the benefit of "bases on the Moon"? That kind of effort has to be motivated by something greater than Cold War bragging. Unless natural resources can be pillaged and slave labor secured there is no real incentive for anyone who can to go to space., and as we know, there is sadly no evidence of slave labor, aka aliens, despite some claims. As for natural resources well Google seems to be on to something, minerals something..? Anyway, Americans need to watch less bad television and put more faith in Google and less in NASA.
First of all, the U.S. will be sending (uniformed) humans to Africa, Middle East, and such places. There are wars to be fought there, forget about space exploration. And then, what's on Mars? For what reason would any country "send humans" to Mars specifically? Finally, as a species we are clearly intellectually and consequently technologically unable to become what they call "space-faring". On the bright side, at any second of any day we might be contacted by aliens who will be generous and kind to share their knowledge with us. Like in a movie. Yeah I think that's our best bet for a bright future.
I still haven't gotten over Pluto's demotion. I just don't wanna revisit that whole thing. Moon, shmoon, whatever, it will never be the same. Anyway I'm sure somebody out there's already got perfectly good names for them...
The issue of the dumbness of these two words put together has worried me for some time now. Perhaps the lady should go for "naval spaceman". Makes as little sense, but will save her some aggro.
It must've been fun writing the script for that series. "40-Eridani-System" XD Pretty much sky was the limit for throwing random shit in. Anyway Vulcans are weird. I vote that first contact should be made with the other ones.. Romulans. On topic, since noticing the other night for the first time that Betelgeuse actually looks red in the sky, and reading up on it, I've decided I'm interested in red super giants. This story about dwarfs currently has no appeal for me.
It does for folk who like it that way, and those unable to navigate clicky GUI configuration options with big icons and explanatory tooltips, and change it. My KDE UI looks nothing like the default. But it's not about the UI, anyway:)
I just upgraded and luckily my heavily customized setup from 4.9 is intact. KDE's been snappy on this notebook anyway and completely problem-free for months (well only Firefox in conjunction with Google Docs freezes like once a day... but that's an FF bug) frankly I wouldn't use it if it was slow, so I don't see any particular change in speed.. and I was running the indexers and whatnot before. The only thing that was using a lot of resources (imo) was Amarok, but then I removed all services, plugins and stuff I don't use, and now it never goes over 70 MB after playing music all day. I've been using KDE for less than a year but all in all I like this desktop.
This is so clearly not about getting richer, at least not in the short term and not via asteroid mining. Somebody out there has some sort of a vision and money to invest in it, and this is their first step. Btw, what a waste of space that "article" is.

Forgive my ignorance, I'm continental - is a wigger a person who wears wigs? I don't think he does, though.
are beginning to annoy me..

"all the shady folks trying to game the system"
you don't get that, huh? Fascinating.

Right, nothing like the lootin' and shootin' in New Orleans in the wake of Katrina.
Reminded me of videos of the Twin Towers falling. All that dust and scared people. Awesome indeed.
You're "reading" this on Fox, I presume.
a revolution.

Shame on you! You seem to be making fun of the fact that he is what they call a "full-figured, plus-sized, real man".

I have lived to see it, the downfall of Microsoft.
Thanks, Steve.
