I sense that you're being sarcastic. It's not about winning the favour of most people. It's about giving a different spin to the issue and garnering the support of people and entities that defend transgenders' rights.
Am I the only one who thinks there's a big possibility that this is just a desperate move in order to gain sympathy disguising himself as a member of an oppressed demographic?
Not that I have any objection, if I were in his shoes I'd be desperate enough to try it too.
You may not be willing to accept the 'always capturing video and audio' concept (and neither am I); but the world, as in the vast majority of people, will most definitely welcome it.
I really don't like this trend of "unifying the experience" across all possible devices. It's dumb. We have a very wide range of devices with different features and purposes. This mentality is what ruined Windows 8, Ubuntu with Unity and anything with Gnome 3 or KDE 4 on top. Give me an interface best suited for the type of device I'm using, instead of clumsily trying to make a one-size-fits-all aberration.
There's so much wrong with the notions in this summary, it's even hard to decide where to start.
First of all, Apple isn't to blame here, much less Steve Jobs, a dead man. Thieves are to blame in the very first place, and secondarily the people who are so careless with their valuable possessions. You can get your pocket picked in a huge city, who would have guessed?
Second of all, reducing the prices of iDevices? Seriously? It's common knowledge that there are cheaper alternatives to Apple products, many of which offer the same benefits; a few which are even better. It's irrelevant. The huge markup in Apple products is due to the perceived prestige of the brand. People don't need platinum Patek Phillippe watches to tell the time, still they want them because they're status symbols. Apple products are entry level status symbols, but that they are nevertheless.
The conclusion is that you can't have a society that highly encourages consumerism and not have the downsides that come with it, such as exaggeratedly expensive items and people who can't afford them, and yet feel the need to obtain them by other means.
When I masturbate, I like to open at least two and up to four different porno videos and tile them over my screen, so that I can get most visual stimulation at once. Will I be able to do this in Window 8? It seems to devote all screen real state to only one application at a time.

It's disturbing to watch so many people defending Google.
Wait wait... are you telling me Americans are still in Baghdad?
He should be receiving a [...] Nobel Peace Prize
Why give him something so meaningless? I mean, look who got one of those in 2009...
And yet Americans keep imposing on the rest of the world with their silly units. Does that mean Americans aren't polite?
... is beautiful and ingenious.
This is what made me switch from Ubuntu to Debian Testing. Unity was no big deal for me, but I draw the line at spyware.
Don't worry - no one will come and shove them down your throat
Not literally, anyway... Figuratively, yes they will.

You can count on it.

A corporation will do ANYTHING to defend its cashflow. Any corporation, even Google.
It's time to drop the "even" when referring to Google.
if Google does turn to the dark side,
We're way past that point.
but I see no reason whatsoever that Google shouldn't make it harder for the average user to block ads.
Reason: It's opposite to what the user wants.
Boggles my mind how some educated people still see this all-knowing mega-corporation as nice and friendly.
