That is why I like the idea of a standing desk and a drafting stool for a chair.
You can stand a while then sit for a while then stand... All without the complexity of a moving desk.

It is simple. Keep your private life private. Being a sheep means that one follows the herd. That is one thing that I do not do. I have chosen a lifestyle for myself that is actually rare today. I don't drink or do drugs at all. I am married to my wife and we are both faithful. I get my news from VOA and NPR and do not support Trump, Clinton, Sanders, or Cruz for president. I will vote for Clinton over Trump if it comes to that because Trump is just evil.
You are a bigot because you have decided that my lifestyle has less value than yours but my lifestyle is the one I have chosen. If you want to get off social media be my guest BTW Slashdot is social media.

And yet I see no reason to not be on facebook after reading it.
I do not know what the problem is. My political views have not been changed by Facebook. I admit it makes me disappointed at the views of some of my friends. Advertisers? Yea look at my feed and you will see I like computers and motorcycles. I really do not mind seeing ads for those things.
HR? Yea I am an old married guy that goes to dinner with my wife.
What do I get out of it? I get to see pictures of my friends kids and I get to keep in touch with friends that live far away from me.
I get on Facebook maybe once or twice a week and post a lot less than that since my life is go to work and go home most of the time.

"Disclaimer: I've known dozens of enthusiastic Rush fans, everyone a musician... I, on the other hand, don't particularly care for their music."
    From the wikipedia.
"The band released its eponymous debut album in March 1974. Since then, they have achieved 24 gold records and 14 platinum (3 multi-platinum) records. According to the RIAA, Rush's sales statistics also place them third behind The Beatles and The Rolling Stones for the most consecutive gold or platinum albums by a rock band.[citation needed] Rush also ranks 79th in U.S. album sales with 25 million units.[1] Although total worldwide album sales are not calculated by any single entity, as of 2004 several industry sources estimated Rush's total worldwide album sales at over 40 million units.[2][3][4][5]"

24 gold records, 14 platinum, and 25 million albums sold in the US. I think they have fans that are not musicians.

Lithium Ion batteries have been in production for 25 years and under development for 35 years. The progress has not been all that fast. If you compare it to the jet engine, space flight, or microprocessors it has been a very slow improvement from prototype to where we are now.

Every once in awhile you will find a gem in a used book store.
I found a book on navy strategy written in 1944 and from the stamp was part of a US subs library. It had notes written in the margins asking things like, "how does this apply now that we have nuclear weapons?"
The other book was on fighter design from 1943 written by the founder of Republic aircraft.
No one is going to publish those books today but they could be really interesting to people like me.

Really? I graduated high school in 1983 so yes I am old but I remember using the library as being an exercise in frustration. I was interested in aviation, chemistry, cars, and computers. The books at my local and high school library where few in number and very outdated. If I wanted to read fiction it was fine. I wanted to read about computers I was stuck with reading about IBM mainframes and Univacs. Interesting to be sure but not all that useful and no references to programing at all.
