Recently a certain auto maker was the front page occupant of many newspapers for a huge diesel scandal (I bet you can't guess who!) You know something? I haven't seen so many goddamned Golfs and Jettas on the road since
I didn't look at the numbers, but if SNES was more commercially successful than the NES, and Nintendo realizes the fuck-up they made with the NES Classic, this move makes a ton of sense and hopefully they've learned their lesson with this one. My hat off to Nintendo for even bothering with making these though.
I wonder... Will it be like it used to? Bnet being home to BGH/Fastest Map/UMS pub games and private servers being where any serious competition is at? Must not have logged on this game in at least 5-6 years, but hopefully nothing changed much in that regard. Pretty excited for the hi-res version, this is THE game that kept my childhood sane.

I don't read a whole lot, but when I randomly picked up The Thousand Orcs, from the Hunter's Blade Trilogy, I was immediately hooked. I'm almost done with the Dark Elf trilogy and would happily start purchasing The Icewind Dale trilogy novels as soon as I'm done.
Who needs soliders? The Edmonton Mall is a housing facility for the world's most sophisticated military complex. I thought the submarine was a dead giveaway. Naive peasants.
I'm not a denier, or a believer, or whatever you want to call me, but it's not the arrogance and ego (yes I'm sure there's a few who feel butthurt when you challenge their beliefs, fuck them). It's the immediate sense of survival. Most people don't have global warming on their priority list of things to do to stay alive because it's not naturally obvious to them that something bad is happening.
On top of that, how many times have we been told as a people "Oh this is going to be really bad, you just watch." then, nothing. Not to say its the case with this, but people don't care about the subject so much as they care about how it makes them feel. "Great, they're talking doomsday again, fuck this shit I have groceries to do so I can feed my kids." See where I'm going with this?
Even when it comes knocking on their doorsteps in the form of a massive hurricane, global warming will be the last thing on their minds. Its all about survival. If your survival isn't immediately threatened, you aren't naturally inclined to react. Generally, of course. We're all different.
At this point, it almost looks as though a fair amount of folks just see this as a scam to increase government/corporate power. Is it a conspiracy? Meh. Sounds like daily business to me. Whether it's true or not, there's a certain story about a dam breaking and people not moving, even when breakage is imminent. Cognitive dissonance is it? I forget.. too early. Coffee time!
That sort of non-sense is exactly what you shouldn't do. Put those people down, sure. Then what? They go home with their tails between their legs, thinking about a way to get revenge on those "smarty pants". Your bullying tactics only ends up creating a bunch of criminals. Good job. You get a free asshole badge!
