    Pfft. Every vending machine I've ran across rudely refused to accept any bill with the slightest tear, wrinkle or folded corner. As a whole, vending machines certainly don't deserve a "very good" rating.

    And frankly, if you're so chincy as to get twisted over carrying dollars in your pocket versus wallet versus just losing them in the sofa, then you should really appreciate how much money (your tax money) could be saved by the switch.

    First, nobody has the mobile bandwidth for a 24/7 stream. Nor the storage space.

    I'll bet 3G or local wifi could provide enough bandwidth. The NSA would be happy to store that video data for you. :)

    Nor the battery.

    Ext. battery pack in pocket. If they aren't sold already, they will by the time Joe Public can afford GG.

    Second, you aren't that interesting when you are outside.

    My emails and text messages aren't that interesting but, again, ...NSA.

    You're right though about the proposed responses so far. Pretty stupid. My plan: walk away.

    GUIs are walled gardens in that features available in one piece of software is not available to other pieces of software.

    The best programs do have scripting interfaces but just because a program lacks a graphical interface doesn't mean it's properly scriptable.

    Oh, please. The cost of upgrading a fleet of workstations isn't just the licen$ing. You've assumed total cost of ~$300/station which seems pretty low-ball.

    And just because you operate a huge fleet of workstations doesn't mean you can "easily" invest $6.5M to upgrade them all. My home town's school district probably has tens of thousands of workstations across their 50+ schools. You think they have a few million sitting around somewhere?

    If you're just starting a business, then employee:CEO wage ratio caps are the very last thing threatening your success. Oh, and if it's not a corporation, those caps likely don't even apply. Why worry (to the point of profanity) about what wouldn't affect you?

    This has in some respects already occurred. McDonald's is primarily a franchiser. They do own some stores where they have especially good reason to but the majority of restaurants are independently-owned franchise licensees.

    The ultimate source of all our energy is a nuclear reaction. Some paths are rather inefficient (fusion->sunlight->plants->dinosaurs->time->oil) while others less so (fusion->sunlight->solar panel). I most certainly wouldn't argue against solar or wind power but I believe we need to figure out how to make nuclear power work. If not sooner, then definitely later.

    It didn't help he (correctly) pointed out ecstasy is safer than horse riding, which happens to be relatively popular in the UK. The BBC felt obliged to publish an article arguing the dangers of riding were "tempered" by its health benefits and that, somehow, his assessment was invalid.
