You can configure your phone (well, Android phone) to give it max performance and 3 second battery life, or the other way around. I guess it would be helpful for casual Androiders who don't get into custom ROMs, custom Kernels, and the tweaking of each.
I think we're gonna need to confiscate your geek card.
That's okay, I fancy myself more as a nerd than a geek.
And I do understand the command-line, but super average computer user that relies on someone else to fix their computer doesn't. And that's what I think is holding back open source on the desktop.
*nix on the desktop has been discussed for yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaars but if Joe and/or Jane and/or little Billy Average ever get serious about privacy, could that cause a dramatic shift to open source? And where the users go, the devs are sure to follow.
Just need to shift away from 99% of command-line configuration/installation/navigation and Billy Joe Jane Smooth, IMHO, will finally get on board. I'm a 25+ year nerd with my beginnings on an IBM PS/2 (shudder). 36 now, on Windows 7, and I pretty much loathe the command-line. Text UI be damned! To the depths of Mount Doom!
Aren't patents supposed to cover "not obvious" things? What, are Samsung phones not supposed to sync data? TAPPING on a phone number to CALL it? Simply amazing.
I don't suppose anyone at Apple ever thought the money spent waging war against Samsung would be better spent...oh, I don't know...making better products?
Which Dinosaur? There were lots of sizes! I need to quantify this immediately or my brain will turn into dark matter! Get it? Grey matter, dark matter...Laugh or I'll turn this solar system around and we'll go right back to the dark matter.
...what about Nutella? You can't say Nutella isn't like crack. Excuse me while I inject my veins with Nutella flavored Nutella on Nutella cookie with Nutella sprinkles.
What were we talking about?
I always thought polygraph results weren't allowed as evidence, thus making their fake results even more useless. Am I missing something here? I refuse to RTFA, Slashdot posters are way more interesting. Thank you in advance for any amusement.
"25 hours of battery life claimed." So in reality it'll be about maybe 4 hours of actual use, unless Sony's reality is screen dimmed until you can just barely make out shapes and just staring at it for 25 hours. Yep, that sounds about right for Sony Reality.
Why does it seem when major problems like this arise companies are quick to dismiss/deny/ignore whatever as the first response?
I am not sure of your personal beef, but from the article which identifies a minor bug "have contacted Samsung to report the issue." Where is Samsung dismissing or denying...or ignoring the problem.
Calm down there sparky, I'm no Samsung fanboy (although I am looking at a Samsung monitor right now), I was just referring to the summary "So far Samsung didn't acknowledge the problem though it seems to affect all S3 phones." I guess I should never trust/. summaries to be accurate in any way, shape or form.
High pixel density is one hurdle we're getting over but color gamut should be focused on too. Density beyond what the human eye could ever differentiate and the entire gamut of colors possible would be drool worthy. Hmm. While I'm at it, add an extra thin profile, IPS v2 (complete 180 degree viewing angle, though completely pointless. HEY, I can see the side of the TV AND the movie! THIS IS SOME TECHNOLOGY!) anti-glare, touch compatible, under 5 lbs., 100W max load, 0.001mW standby, built-in wireless petabit internet, built-in 500 exabyte Super-SSD (30x faster than current SSD technology!) and an 8 slice toaster.
I've never understood the stock market and never will. It feels completely fake to me, like a real-money MMO. It's like a rigged game where most people get shit on and the elites get all the loot. Let's all pretend we're "buying" a part of a company! Maybe it was a good idea at one point, but it's just a big joke now.
...should be a course in Computer and Internet Obviousness (naughty words omitted to make it sound more official, fucking god dammit). And certified as passing this course should be a requirement to be a judge or lawyer in the US with a 6 month renewal term. Any lawyer not holding a certificate should be disbarred post haste and any judge should be removed from his/her seat post haste. Post haste. Haste.
It's Scientology's elusive parasitic division. There's a scientape worm in these peoples' brains, causing inflammation and rendering them useless. It's the only logical reason I can think of for that kind of statement.
Really any distraction is bad, but absolute zero distractions is almost impossible. Our minds just aren't *that* focused all the time. OOH LOOK KITTY but what I'm tryin to say here is maybe free nation-wide turn-by-turn GPS with a soothing voice and occasional personal compliments. A calm mind can more easily focus.
That, and occasional free Cadbury eggs. Ohhhh Cadbury my anti-drug.
38 weeks minimum? Honestly shocking. Just count that to my ignorance of IT management. I really understand everyone's argument to not switch (from cost to no real *need* to, so what's the point?) and really didn't consider those with my initial post. Be strong my friend, I'm sure in the end there will be hugs and bacon cupcakes flowing. No, not really. Just delude yourself to keep from going insane;-)
I guess EOL products aren't as doomsday as the companies would like you to believe. Heck, even less than/. headline/summaries would have you believe either.
XP -> 7 is entirely worth it. I'm no IT professional and don't know the logistics of it all but when I upgraded it was like day and night. I really don't understand the slow uptake to 7. Laziness? XP to Vista I understand, Vista was a pile of poopy fart poops. But 7 is a breeze and if I may boldly say in my experience even more reliable than XP.
Of course, I could be letting the odd obscure legacy program go over my head but still... 7. 7 7 7 7 7. Did I mention 7?
DAMN why can't I have moderator points?? I'd mod you up 83 times.

Union Street Guest House SUCKS!! You're welcome.
Couldn't they have just said "Don't use Internet Explorer, anytime, anywhere, ever?" That's so much easier.

More and more the concept album "Year Zero" by Nine Inch Nails is becoming less "concept" and more "reality."
Follow the money.

Really isn't a name for just a moon but for a whole planet. That's my opinion. Seems logical.

The truth shall set you free. Anonymously. Freely anonymous. PETA kills animals. PETA is run by hypocrites. PETA should be banned from existing.
The roasted flesh of sanctioned lawyers is like sweet, tangy, smokey, savory BBQ baby back ribs. I just made myself hungry. More lawyers on the coals!
