They are only stealing it in the same sense that Steve Jobs accused the Android team of stealing Apple's ideas 15 years after admitting that Apple steals other people's ideas.
I don't think everyone struggles with academics, though some would argue that if you aren't then you need a bigger load or a more difficult program. But there are many other things that can cause people to struggle. There is your budget; roommates; not punching some asshole who desperately deserves it; whether to spend the weekend with the spelunking club or the skydiving club; do I go out with the blonde or the slightly less attractive redhead (okay, that's not a struggle, it's the redhead), when should I stop drinking in order to avoid getting my face written on with a sharpie (or worse). Everyone struggles with different things.
Where did you get the idea that I'm okay with "this" (whatever "this" is)? Are you talking about the handshake deals or the single subject bill requirement? I am unhappy that the single subject law in MN is largely unenforced. If single subject isn't going to be consistently enforced (I don't believe it will be) then get rid of it rather than selectively enforcing it. I'm merely pointing out that the single subject rule won't work for the reasons I stated. It won't achieve the desired goal.
Meh. Even IF it passed, it would never be used. That is part of the whole handshake deal of how laws get passed. Group A puts up a bill that group B is slightly against or doesn't care about. Group B whats a different law that A doesn't really like, so B tells A they will only vote for the bill if B's provision is inserted. The enforcement of the deal is in the fact that you are voting for both provision at the same time. BTW It is already part of the constitution of MN. The only time I've ever seen it enforced was when a provision relating to concealed carry was put into a DNR bill that also included some hunting changes. It wasn't done under the table either. It was well publicized and the combined bill passed, but was challenged.
Because murder doesn't happen in prison? Unless you put the person in solitary for the rest of their lives, which they are generally not allowed to do for simple murderers.
I don't think that would do it. The biggest delays seem to happen at the same time every week, Monday morning being a very predictable example. Even then they don't have all the lanes open. This smacks of typical government extortion. "Give us more money or we will cut the services that most impact the public." They won't make a serious attempt to work more efficiently or otherwise cut the fat.
They have kiosks. You swipe your loyalty card and it brings up a choice to start with a previous order or from scratch. You customize it however you want. If you have free stuff coming, it lets you know and offers the option to get it now or wait until next time. Easy. I almost always use the kiosk, even if there isn't a like at the cash register.
MS will offer a discounted or free license and maybe some free support for some period just to reduce the apparent benefit of migrating. Eventually they will ramp the license fee back up.
This is fantastic news. This will presumably mean they'll stop their asshat nagware campaign, cause they can't have it both ways. If they don't, I bet there will be a sudden spike in popcorn sales as people sit back to watch the fireworks.
I think you give them too much credit. The nagware will continue but it will not update automatically. Or maybe it will. I would hope that they are not this evil, but... It could update automatically and then at the EULA screen give you the option to pay. If you decline the EULA or don't pay it will then revert back to 7 or 8. Rinse repeat every month or so.
No, no, no. You don't understand how this works. His God told him to run. God, knowing everything, knew he wouldn't win. God put him through this to see if he would maintain his faith. God has greater plans for him... Or that's what he'll tell himself.
This is a pretty good idea. Not terribly dangerous unless the drone lands on someone. Limited range, so if it is in range it is probably violating privacy. It will totally move the super soaker arms race to the next level, which is reason enough by itself.
Here's the thing; rich people tend to have good lawyers and accountants. If they want to, they WILL find a way to pass it on to their kids. I don't see our current system of government in the US being able to do anything about it. Not making a judgment as to whether they should.
I have the same sentiment as you, though my financial situation is a little better than that. If they do this I will quit my job. I will spend my time hiking, camping, mountain biking, playing video games, etc. I don't smoke pot but I'm willing to learn. If I start feeling guilty, which isn't impossible, I will just throw a few volunteer hours at some veterans or old folks thing.
If they were regulated like manned aircraft they would likely fall under the helicopter regulations which basically state that there isn't an arbitrary minimum, rather that they must be operated without undue hazard to persons or property.
Why is this under the federal jurisdiction? Interstate commerce. No, seriously. It all started with the "Air Commerce Act" of 1926. But really, anything the feds really want to regulate, they can by citing interstate commerce.
I don't know how civilized it is, but it is supply and demand. If you are in demand you have leverage to negotiate. If you are one of thousands competing for the same 10 jobs *cough*Walmart*cough*, you do not have leverage. Frankly I like the negotiating process because it lets me optimize for my own situation.
If we don't get outraged now, when will we ever? We shouldn't be afraid to be the first to say "enough."

It would seem like the defendant could counter-sue for abuse of process, but I'm not even a secretary for a lawyer so I may be speaking incoherently.

Where did I say I care? From my perspective this is a purely academic discussion.
The defendant may have cause for a claim of Abuse of Process.

It is a deterrent for the guy you execute. It will deter said person from ever killing again.

/I'm sorry

If so then, regardless of this case, you really have nobody to blame but yourself.

Yes. Absolutely. My comment may have sounded tongue in cheek, but your scenario is very good with me.

So now they are going to expect tips on top of the agreed upon fare? I'm running out of reasons to use them.
