    The US doesn't pay out anything when you sell a treasury security, only when they mature.

    Dumping a bunch of securities at once on the market will depress bid, but that hurts the sellers as much as new issues.

    Also, US treasury securities are denominated in US dollars, whose value can be controlled by the US. The Chinese renminbi is back to an unofficial peg to the dollar, and the Saudi riyal is de facto pegged to the dollar. The US could push inflation-protected securities to the buyers that the Saudis would try to sell to, weaken the dollar, China would follow the US down, exports for both countries would go up, and only the Saudis are hurt.

    Section 4 of the 14th amendment makes it unconstitutional for the US to default. However, the US can devalue the dollar.

    I've seen UK plans that I wish I could sign up for that would give be a better deal roaming all the time in the US than a domestic US plan.

    No, the IP of the internal interface of the cable modem will not show up in a tracert that originates internally. The IP of the external interface will.

    It's even money for any process in production today whether there are *any* features that match the name of the node. "10nm" just means that it is the node that comes after "14nm".

    Any actual dimensions are closely held trade secrets that get scrubbed out of any material that makes it to the public, and most material circulated within the company. This is especially fun when you have to send a test case to an external CAD tool vendor where you have to scale it to some abstract units.

    The iCloud backup is encrypted differently than the data on the device, so you need the Apple ID password to restores a blank iPhone form that . On iPhones newer than the 5c, you *can't* get the iPhone encryption key off the device (outside of performing obscure surgery on the silicon).
