Lemme guess. You probably have difficulty reading people and social situations. Or don't quite understand what makes something cool and often have jokes fly over your head.:)
Making fun of autism is a hate crime and makes you no less a bigot than a racist or homophobe.
I never understood why he was ridiculed for "developers developers" anyway. I don't remember the rest of the speech, but I doubt it was wrong. Platforms live and die based on how many apps they have.
It's kind of like that Howard Dean "yeargggg!" thing, something that sounds ridiculous out of context and is promoted by spiteful enemies for that reason.
Your objection is that it has a message you disagree with. In that sense, I agree with Card. It is intolerance. And closed-mindedness. If you refuse to listen to any argument against what you believe in, you must believe in a lot of things that aren't true.
I believe your mother (any wife and daughters) should be provided as a reward for those prisoners in Guantanamo who provide useful information. I can elaborate, but if you refuse to listen, it means you're a close-minded and intolerant hypocrite.
while having no other redeeming legitimate purpose
Fun is a legitimate purpose, and shooting things is fun.
Or, in other words, there is a reason many sports involve the launching of projectiles, by human power or chemical, and that the simulation of this activity is the most common mechanic of video games. When you deny this, you deny your own instincts. You deny your evolution like a creationist.
Do you know this for a fact, or are you idiotically assuming all environmentalists are legitimate and all believe the exact same things?
Actually, it sounds like you believe environmentalists are responsible for the nation's energy policy and the choices of billion dollar energy companies. Bless your heart.
people selling snake oil or people whining about "solutionism".
Since when is a documentary required to promote every possible agenda? I haven't seen the documentary, but I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that it does not ignore nuclear power's downsides, especially considering its focus on previously anti-nuclear environmentalists.
"Solutionism" is a thought terminating cliche, a way to dismiss any solution because it doesn't encompass every possible solution. It's a ploy for people who only know rhetoric and politics to wrestle control of the debate from people who know science and engineering.
Consider the vacuous absurdity of the closing of the article:
A more powerful approach to this complex threat to humanity would be to film a fact-based, passionate debate that explored the alternatives, trade-offs, and consequences of various energy options. Such an exploration might move us from the usual politics of zealotry to new habits of thought, and perhaps to new forms of action based on all the facts.
No one is under any obligation to please you, the head of an anti-nuclear activist group, which is no stranger to zealotry. If you want other options, make your own documentary to promote them. You can make it "fact-based" too!
Oh, no, here come the "there ought to be a law" types.
You're just gonna have to deal with it, because even if it could be outlawed, the technology will eventually get so good as to be undetectable without a TSA style search.
So for your precious public "privacy", you want to enhance the security theater apparatus to include restaurants and movie theaters. The MPAA will love it.
That "just so" story gets me in the feels, therefore it isn't evo-psych STEMlord oppression.
It's gotten to the point where anyone who uses the word "neckbeard" can be assumed to have a neckbeard.
That exceeded the standard threshold for painfully aspergian jokes and obnoxious editorializing in an article write-up.
You have one job, Unkown Lamer, one job!

Fuck you for making go figure out the reference. What a horribly shit song with a horribly shit video.
That is his field, and he knows it well.

Then you must be a pathologically contrarian person.
Tempted? You'd have a moral if not legal duty to provide copies of that evidence to police.
I, for one, am eagerly anticipating the so-called sousveillance future, which Google Glass and dash-cams are merely the beginning of.
Your magic thinking will not stop copycats. It does, however, help the liberals hide the Truth from God-fearing Conservatives!

Getting trounced by PHP is not a point for JavaScript.
That, and more significantly the iPad / iPhone difference has caused me far more headaches than Android's zoo of screen sizes.
Android was designed from the ground up for arbitrary screen dimensions. iOS wasn't. iOS couldn't even deal with it effectively until iOS 6.0.
I'm sorry, I'm going to need a car analogy to make sense of this.
I see someone has been reading David Brin.

It was great.... FOR ME TO SIT ON.
You know, because it had seats.
Though I suspect many an Apple fanboy will attempt the same with the Mac Cylinder, despite it being so small, or perhaps because of it.
Is this the thread where fat bearded forever alone guys make fun of girls doing stuff they do without needing their help or approval?
Im gona use movie revue to bitch about Google. Bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch.... [8K text later] .... btitch. Thank u 4 ur time.

Seriously. It is doomed to failure.
I dunno, but I hope this means someone builds a Predictor.

You've confused outcome with goal. Science predicts outcomes. The fight is over gets to choose what outcome.
