They been making so many bad moves in the last few years, I'm beginning to think this is some elaborate game to intentionally run the company off a cliff. Surely to god, they can't be doing all this dumb shit and actually thinking it's smart. Can they?
Just because we are citizens of a country whose government commits wrongs doesn't mean we should just ignore every wrong committed by every other government in the world. We can still condemn BOTH, you know.
Discredit the messenger to distract from the actual message:
He's a traitor, he's a rapist, people say bad things about him, he's a liar, he supports terrorists, he puts you and your loved ones in danger, you should hate him.
Look, I'll be the first to admit that when I was young, I was really big into badger culling myself. But, like most people, I eventually grew out of it and realized that badgers are much better left unculled. Having kids will really change your perspective, man.
What really pisses me off is that even a public domain work these days is subject to being "reclaimed" into copyright, if there is money to be made. Just look at "It's a Wonderful Life." No one would have even remembered that movie if it hadn't fell into the public domain and became popular to air around Christmas (since anyone could do it). But when someone realized it was actually making money and had became popular again, of course some corporation immediately sweeps in and reclaims copyright on it. Now it only airs once or twice a year on NBC and no one gives a shit.
There is only so much you can do with make-up and FX. In T3, you'll notice that they had to shoot him from the chest up in the nude scenes (to not show that gut). And that was 10 years ago. The guy is in phenomenal shape for someone his age, no doubt. But no one can get away with playing the same age for over 30 years.
BULLSHIT. Just because Ellison is sue-happy doesn't make the minor resemblances between his works and the many people he's sued anything more than just coincidental results of writers reusing common sci-fi tropes. If anyone has the right to complain, it's Phillip Dick. Terminator 1, particularly in Reese's flash-forwards, draws way more heavily from "Second Variety" than from anything else (the new Battlestar Galactica did too).
Ellison is, was, and will always be an overrated hack. I would say that he's no Dick, but he's actually a pretty big one.
I was beginning to think I was alone in liking that movie. I thought Christian Bale and Sam Worthington both gave particularly good performances. Bale was a pretty obvious choice to play John Connor in the future, having done such an excellent job playing a similar role in Reign of Fire. So I knew at least that it wasn't completely going to suck when they announced him for the role. And despite my reservations about McG's directing, I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the end result.
I actually liked Terminator 3 and Salvation. And I'm a pretty critical guy when it comes to modern movies.
Yeah, Terminator 3 was a little tongue-in-cheek at the beginning, and its tone was definitely a LOT more fatalistic than even the first one. And Salvation was a little more action-oriented than it probably needed to be. But I thought they both had pretty strong stories and good acting.
I especially liked Salvation because it finally got us away from the "time traveling soldiers/terminators come back to fight it out in 1984, 1991, 2003, blah, blah, blah" setup that was getting pretty stale. They eventually *had* to go into the future and tell the story of John Connor and how he actually overthrew the machines and beat Skynet. You can't just set the big story up forever and not have some kind of payoff.
Hey, you're going to need a Monster HDMI cable with that new Xbox. With gold-plated connectors and oxygenated wiring, it really makes the picture look its best!
With BestBuny now hosting Apple stores, Samsung stores, Microsoft stores, and god knows how many more; I'm wondering if there will be any space left for me to just buy the goddamned blu-ray movie and ink cartridge that I came for.
I'm the same way. I'm always learning and trying to improve myself. Most people just stand still and rest on their laurels. I've picked up two new degrees and countless new skills over just the last 10 years.
In the U.S., graduate/research assistants generally aren't even considered employees under the law. Universities use the "they're students, not employees" thing to skirt even the most basic worker protections for grad assistants (similar to the way interns are exploited). They're so low that they can't even file for unemployment or count their work towards their Social Security (since they were never even "employed" in the first place, according to the law).
I have a gaming rig I use to play MMO's. But I prefer a console for the lack of hassle, and the fact that I can sit down with a controller and play it anywhere. With a new generation of consoles coming out, and with Elder Scrolls Online coming to them, I imagine my PC will end up neglected for a while.
I got that from the PC Magazine article which said:
Other games of note include Bungie and Activision's Destiny, Ubisoft's Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, 2K Games's NBA 2K14 (complete with video appearance by Lebron James and Lebron James's PS4-rendered digital simulacra), and Bethesda Softworks and Zenimax Online Studios' The Elder Scrolls Online, which will get a PS4-exclusive console port.
But it looks like they may have meant an exclusive ESO beta, from subsequent reports.
So far, it looks like the PS4 hardware is better, it's got Elder Scrolls Online as an exclusive (a big deal for me), there is less of that authentication/DRM drama (amazing coming from Sony, who have always been the worst control freaks in the past), and it's $100 cheaper too!
I've been a fan of Xbox since the Xbox 1. But MS is making all the wrong moves on the Xbox One. And looks like Sony is making all the right ones on the PS4. I may have to cross the line on this next generation.

But yeah, the smear campaign seems rather muted at this time.
Hey, give them some time. It takes more than a few days to build a truly nasty discrediting campaign.

Most hospitals and public health organizations *do* have public relations people. And they usually oversee any public announcements.

When I violated Guns-n-Roses' copyrights, Axl Rose not only sued me, he threw me out of Guns-n-Roses. I never even knew I was *in* Guns-n-Roses!

never-ending copyright extensions
Thank you Disney and Sono Bono. Even The Emperor and Darth Vader must now bow to Disney.
Give me your shirt, your shoes, your boots, a pair of Depends undergarments, and an Ensure.

Actually the source material is "Soldier" by Harlan Ellison http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soldier_(The_Outer_Limits) [wikipedia.org]

How DARE you besmirch the fine reputation of the Geek Squad, sir!!!

We go to all that trouble to attempt an overthrow of the Nicaraguan government all through the 80's, and THIS is how they say thanks!
Do you have any idea how much money we spent sending your people to college, you ungrateful bastards?
Nice try, faker! We all know that real Apple fans have their sense of humor extracted at welcome camp.
