Your post reminds me of the "old days" of computer stores.
Back then it was about cool new software and hardware. That started to change to "business" only stores. I haven't been in a computer store in years because of it.
Makes me sad.
Oh, I still go to Best Buy and places like that.
I had a low tech version years ago!

Consumers should protect themselves from this disturbing development! Please please please use caution when buying CD's! Do not buy any CD's that have this "feature", the manufacturer will take notice when sales drop off!
I can see it now. "These young people come to our universitys to learn and perpare themselves for the future. They should have no need or spare time to explore the filth offered by the internet. So we must regulate this unproductive use of our state owned equipment."
"And, while we are at it, we should increase tuition to cover the cost of our internet connections"
Maybe it will try to reduce my calories. Maybe it will email the Surgeon General if I start to eat unhealthy foods. Hate to have a Health and Human Services SWAT team raid my house.
Little strings of atoms. Everything to make a chicken is inside that shell. The feathers, legs, tasty breast and the clucking sound. All from a little string of atoms.
When I want to be really blown away I think about genes. Damn it's fun.

I can sit around in my underwear and listen to
"radio" shows.
In fact, I've started searching for music I want to
listen to, not what the local radio stations want me
to listen to.
If I can replace all my sons games with Linux
versions, will I get a discount?
I mean really, I've got a lot of money tied up in
MS based games. Plus, I don't want to buy
Win2000.
Years ago 60 Minutes did a story about privacy.
They got a man and wife to give all their cancelled checks for one year to a private investigator.
The PI loved it, he wished he could get that detailed information on all cases.
Does your bank return cancelled checks?
Bit like saying within 50 years you will be able to watch television and
see bombs falling on Iraq in real time, back in 1941.

"huge amounts of staff" = more state employees = higher taxs = more power for the politicians who thought it up in the first place
My seismograph now uses a Klien bottle filled with ink to plot on a mobius strip.

Are they just trying to cash in on TIVO's success?
I can rebroadcast William Cooper from his
internet audio feed!
Anybody ever listen to Micro Kind?
Linux programmers can start building software
to run on hand helds.
And what about wearables???? Sounds like somebody
could build a cool computer into a tuxedo! Or would
that be too obvious?

These comments remind me of the drug
culture. Interesting isn't it, a network
connection has replaced a dealer connection.
A pay per view worth paying for!
How will it know the speed limit in the
area you are traveling?
What would I be doing today if you had not
done what you did?
Thanks!
Didn't the computer make "thing of the year"
back in 1983-84ish?

Nasa has plans to fly an airplane on Mars to

Ever think about how fast technology progressed
after the US became a country?
Flintlocks to nuclear weapons in 169 years.
I'm not saying the US did this alone. Our nuclear
and space programs had some of the best minds
Europe could offer. Thanks to Hitler.
If we can keep it together, the next 100 years
should be just outstanding.
Just why I yanked my kid out of school!
He is brilliant and I'm not going to let them
screw him up!
Look at it this way. He can have a High School
diploma in 5 years or an Associates Degree in
5 years. Which will be worth more?
First CD writer I ever saw in a catalog
was $5000. They have come down since.
How many mp3's could be put on a DVD?
Done all the time in the physical world. Should
be easy to do.
Cops just have to carry a little "cyber planted
evidence" with them.
Is this a great time to be alive or what?!?!
