i usually moderate in stories where i have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to add to the conversation.
Tha said, I'd probably have to mod myself down for being offtopic on this one, but i figured it had to be okay, since this thread was started by the illustrious Wil Wheaton.
BUT lest I do get modded down, I will say something on topic:
I didn't see the movie. I knew it was coming out. But I don't go to the movies on a regular basis, and i rarely watch more than one movie in a night (at the theatre), so when it came down to it, I ended up choosing LoTR over Nemesis. It was a close call though.
It attaches a certain responsibility for pong, that as the founder of Atari, can rightfully be attributed to him (he DID sell it...). But I don't think that statement necessarily implies that he invented it.

By filing this lawsuit, Kazaa kind of admits that they do conduct business in the U.S., while simultaneously they go to great lengths to assert that they are incorporated in Vanatu.
Well, actually, they don't necessarily admit to doing business in the US because of this. They can submit themselves to the jurisdiction of the courts of any state/country for the purpose of a lawsuit, without necessarily doing business there
the expansion pack will change the gameplay with new heroes and units to play with... It will make B.net interesting for a couple days as everyone plays around with new strategies

In the Warcraft III universe, isn't the Burning Legion supposed to be in control of the Undead? Wouldn't that put them on the same side in the "conflict" as their undead brethren and therefore not make sense to be pitted against them?
The problem I have with micromanagement is that it is unfair to those of us with cheaper computers. My comp goes into slow motion in larger battles, and I am almost completely unable to micromanage my units as well as the other players.
But I am still addicted.

As we all know from various movies and television shows (Revenge of the Nerds?), geeks don't like sportts.
Its a natural extension of our general hatred of the Jocks...
Lets go back to building our robots and reading about math.
1) New Heroes for each race (1/race) 2) New Campaigns 3) New units for each race 4) Some sort of new building? 5) Random heroes that can be recruited by any player.
Eh, i don't think there is any attempt being made to profit off of this.
Its just some dude who prob. found this lying around in an old shoebox in his closet and decided to see if he couldn't get it posted on Slashdot...
Now, had someone stopped by his dorm room with a couple of heinekins on the night he dreamed all of this up, well then we wouldn't be having this discussion....
Favorite quote from the phish FAQ:

Unix
You probably don't need our advice."
Bands like Phish that have such great live work, (hell, studio work too) are worth paying for. "Musicians" like Britney Spears are not.
What do you get your boyfriend?

If you are going expensive, get him a powerbook g4
Otherwise, hmmm... a copy of warcraft 3?
don't trust my opinion

Perhaps this could be covered under a "fair use" clause?
AMEN to that!
I too have not seen any of this grade inflation. I currently attend Villanova University, and I transferred here from Babson College.

Direct connect is great if you have a private hub.
We had one running on our college network last semester, and it worked great, downloads were fast, and there were plenty of files shared.
When (trying to) connecting to public hubs though, I found it to be dissapointing for many of the reasons that you've stated, too many people cheat...
OTOH, I just downloaded Jim (giFT for Mac OSX) and it actually is the best p2p network I have used so far on my mac.
Damn. and I just uploaded mine...
