Hey, if there can be an antitrust suit over itunes and the iPod, then maybe the courts could give us one over Exchange. Force MS to open the specs to Exchange.
Came with 2 5.25" floppy drives and 256K of memory. Upgraded to 640K a year later and it cost me $300. I wanted an Apple IIc but my parents got me the Compaq instead.
Wouldn't it be sweet for the courts to rule that DRM is unconstitutional and it must be removed from all digital media! Thats the problem and we can blame the RIAA for it. Of course, now they don't like the fact that Apple has so much influence and wields so much power for digital music. And I don't see Apple removing DRM anytime soon since they've found out that DRM is not about preventing piracy, its about vendor lock-in. So maybe the courts will come through for us.
I had a good job working as an Linux Admin for a City Gov't that was about 30 miles (45-50 minute commute) away. But I was bored because my input didn't seem worthy to my boss. I left in September to come back to the city I currently live in. I work 4 miles from home. I took a $7K pay cut. Is it worth it? I'm now working with Windows, ColdFusion, and inept management that is still stuck in the 90's. Can't beat the drive though. I've finally realized that my perfect job will be me working for myself. So my goal is to be on my own by the end of the year.
Simple reason is Vista doesn't need to sell a single retail copy for it to succeed. It will come pre-installed on 90% of machines sold, therefore it will be a success. And eventually, it will be the most widely used OS around. Give it about two or three years.
I was a freshman at Virginia Tech and had just come back from an English class I think. Went back to my dorm room and the guys across the hall told me about it. Don't think I missed any classes over it. There were more important reasons to miss class back then.
Cars will be a HUGE hit, maybe the biggest Pixar movie to date. My soon to be 3 year old son is already asking to go see it. It will be his first movie in a theater. I personally can't wait.
I'm waiting for a comparison on apps like Photoshop on a MacBook Pro using Rosetta versus running natively on a PowerBook G4. If the MacBook Pro runs Photoshop faster in Rosetta than the G4 can run it, I'll be super impressed and definitely be placing my order.
Amazing, so what do they want to do? Find out that my kids have been surfing for porn and send me an email. Gee, thanks prez. I'm glad you're looking out for what my kids are doing while on their computer, especially since you've cut out after school programs for these same kids.
H.264 video: up to 768 Kbps, 320 x 240, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in.m4v,.mp4 and.mov file formats MPEG-4 video: up to 2.5 mbps, 480 x 480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 Khz, stereo audio in.m4v,.mp4 and.mov file formats
I've been a fan of baseball my whole life. I have pictures on my wall of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jackie Robinson, Mickey Mantle, and Nolan Ryan. I have participated in Rotisserie Baseball Leagues since 1989. And I have studied baseball statistics since I was a kid and asked my dad how to compute batting average. If the Major League Baseball owners win this court case, I will drop professional baseball completely. I stood by baseball during the strikes, lockouts, and other stuff, but this is taking greed to a new level.
Apple doesn't say, but I'm guessing that maybe its not current, but all together. I dropped my account because for what they provide, its just not worth it. iDisk absolutely sucks big time. The Homepage editor sucks too. The email was nice but for $100 a year, I should get more than 1 account. Why shouldn't my whole family get email accounts for this price? No, Apple wants to charge you $179 or $199 for a family pack. Crazy.
No, with gmail, flickr and plenty of free blog services, paying $100 for services that.mac offers is just dumb.
I was ready to buy two of them. One for the living room to hook up to the stereo and tv and the other to replace an aging PC running Linux that is sitting next to my PowerMac.
Now I'm using Cox DVR. While the interface isn't as nice as TiVo, I have the ability to record two shows at once. Which comes in handy for my wife. And like you said, its only $3.50 month without taking up any more space.
I take it they still want me to pay $400 for a lifetime subscription or $14 per month? Yet, not allow me to export my recordings without using their proprietary app? No, thanks. I'll stick with my http://www.elgato.com/index.php?file=products_eyet v500

I'd mod you up if I had points. Apparently, not enough people here read news other than Slashdot.

It will still suck though.
I see the Linux PowerPC 64 bit version, but how come there's no OS X version? Come on IBM, get with the times!

Or could it be a way for an Apple user to try and use something else for photocasting, have it fail, and then switch back to iPhoto to lock them in?
Wouldn't be the first time a corporation tried to lock somebody in to their product.

That triple threat consists of Google for Internet, Linux for servers and Apple for Desktops and Home Entertainment.
