Wait until all of the media attention, currently focused on Microsoft, reveals unstablity and lack of security in MS Windows. Then MS will be in trouble.
Gotta go, I have to contact Eric Allman on howto write my Sendmail config file.
Humans have not eradicated any animals from the world, they simply were not fit to survive. Things happen for a reason after all. I see the Wolly Mammoth fit to come back, they look tastey. I want a bbq mammoth tenderloin sandwich.
As far as reintroduction of this animal bringing back a disease, what if the apollo missions brought back some disease?
If this happens again 50 years from now, then break that monopoly up too. Regulation would give bureaucrats and politicians an excuse to stick their noses where they don't belong.
want this project to be enteraining in the spirit of PT Barnum, they should land the moon base on the same hollywood set that Tom Hanks used in HBO's "from the Earth to the Moon"
What do you think happened to all the whip and buggy makers at the turn of the century? They got jobs somewhere else. Besides have you noticed? There aren't a shortage of jobs in the US.
Or maybe those NT admins that would have been working in Kansas are out of work, at home, and making prank calls all day.
I just went to wonko.com. I tried to be post a response to a posting from two days ago. (No one had responded yet.) I got some kind of MS jet/asp error.
Hey Wonk0, Your using the wrong tools for you site. you need mysql, or Postgres, BSD or linux.
Sincerly, a wonker
P.S. Is the term wonker coined yet? P.S.S. How come most of the postings on you site had no responses? Must be alot of excitement for w2k.

On my Linux PC Servers, my bios controls whether or not, it boots w/wo a keyboard. I have never changed any keyboard settings(on/off) with the OS. I do not a monitor attached to one, but it does have a cheap vga card in it. Just in case. This way I ensure one less reason for a reboot. Is there some kind of OS performance issue with removing the need for a keyboard/vga card? I do not know.

I'll say this. I am equally dumb setting up either NT/IIS or linux/apache. So, I'll just blame the apache group and the linux community for giving me the opportunity to not reboot my webserver over the last year. It's first aniversary is May 23rd.:)

Do they list the contents of the two Workstation Application CD's? Does any one know what is on them?

When I upgraded from 4.2, I knew it was a mistake.
This just confirms it.
The best releases (of RH... maybe) are behind us, but the best is yet to come.

His acting career is going nowhere, so at least we'll never see him again.
'cept for reruns on the sci-fi channel.
The model with windows CE is priced between 500-600 dollars, while the linux ones are under 700.
How can they claim it has the same feel?
It has a two button mouse, after all.

You are on another planet, bucko.
This was most likely some french guy with an inflated ego due to his country's revival of the "Le Meridian" and Paris mean time. le meridian
I agree either they are now Americans or we should all speak French, cause next the Frech Gov will repeal William the Conqueror's victory.
Hey now, on /. we don't start rumors... we spread 'em :)
Mozilla M6 and M7 worked for me on both linux and win95. I could surf with it. Never crashed.
We should start calling the new browser, Mozilla 2000, this way the media will ignore any FUD.
Incidently, my last IE installation killed my win95. If there were a Linux port of IE, it could not kill Linux.
Word to you mother. --V. Ice
Just rename Mozilla 5.0 to Mozilla 2000.
Slashdot is just to cool to be ignored.
Now if Hemos could just get those links right...

I thought Princess Leia was to become a Jedi Knight.
Any way isn't having a female jedi knight like having the WNBA?
Do we really need one?

Yup, I use xftp.
It is far better than other ftp clients I have tried.
Depending on you point of view, David Card has too much or not enough muscle between his ears. I just ain't shure.
