I got chills in the begining when they showed the Delta Force guy undercover on the streets of Mogadishu. I thought "woah, that is one brave dude". But the courage and loyalty Shugart and Gordon display by droping down is so mindnumbingly heroic I had to rush home and find their pictures on on the Web just so I could see their faces. It because of men like them that we are able to live our lives the way we do.

  7. There is some propaganda. on Review: Black Hawk Down · · Score: 0

Don't forget they got support from the pentagon in making this movie. And it's undeniable that one of the messages of the movie is that Washington bureaucrats shouldn't tell the military how to do their job. So keep that in mind. However the story is really about the bravery and loyalty of those men. Those Delta Force guys, especialy MSG Gary Ivan Gordon and SFC Randall Shughartwill make you proud to be an American.

  8. It is extremely political. on Review: Black Hawk Down · · Score: 0

The movie is actually pro-military and anti-war. This is probably a good thing. Pro-military in that it was supported by the pentagon, and delivers the message that wasahington politicians shouldn't tell the military how to do their job. It is anti-war because you see that war is hell. It is definatly a propaganda piece, but not obnocsiosly so.

Depending on the paticular market (or product) a monopoly may exists because average costs of production are declining beyond the level of output demanded in the market, thus making entry unprofitable and making it efficient for there to be a single firm. This perfectly describes the market for many computer products. Given that the laws of economics encourage a monopoly in this area, isn't government action futile?

I was always under the impression that nobody "ultimately" owned the internet. If the U.S. government did, don't you think there would be a specific 'Federal Internet Tax?'

Been spending alot of time on Mars? The Congess has considered implementing a FIT, however they've decided that the net is still maturing and they've decided to wait. Check out a simple google search Google: Internet tax moritorium and you can learn more.

Besides, where is the internet? It must have a physical location if the gov't owns it.

It sure does. Congress controls the IP addresses and the root nameservers. Check out ICANN

The internet exists wherever the root nameservers and IP address allocation are maintained. Since ICANN/IANA do this based on authority granted by Congess, I'd say that the internet is Americas.
