"People have a lot of work to do and anything that slows them down, even if it is only by a few minutes, is unacceptable."
Really? There's 9% to 10% of people in the US that have a lot of free time on their hands right now. And yet I still see employed people playing Solitaire or Minesweeper in the office every day. How odd.
" easy removal of power connector in case of tripping backlit keyboards that have a sensor to automatically come on automatic screen dimming at low light levels single piece aluminum frame construction for less stress on the motherboard (the most common point of failure of a laptop, in my experience) "
These seem frivolous until you use them. The Magsafe connector has saved many a fall from family, workers, meeting rooms, and school.
Backlit keyboard is just great for a darkened presentation room. Or if trying to use it while they wife is sleeping next to you. Same with the screen.
And mine has been dropped or knocked over several times, and has several dents on the sides and corners, yet nothing internal got knocked loose.
If you don't want to pay for it, don't. He's just pointing out some nice features that often get overlooked.
The 'content' companies are either geniuses or morons in how they throw lawsuits out like last year's fashions. If some stick, win! If not, raise prices or sue another grandma. I don't know Swedish law or how the court system works, but from the summary (no, I did not RTFs) this sounds like a wild shot in the dark.
I do not believe in piracy, but I also do not believe in the 'content' companies policies, rules, or regulations. Exactly why do we still need region coding on DVDs? At least I still have my local library to rent (for free, well, except for local taxes) books.
Once some screenwriter or movie company gets a hold of this story/idea, we are in for a slew of new, badly thought out horror movies. Something like the "Resident Evil" trilogy crossed with mummies. Wonderful.
So much for change. I have the feeling these detainees will just be held until Obama is out of office, where it's 4 or 8 years. Just pass the problem on. I think for once my mom is correct, the country really is starting to go to hell.
While funny, also too true. Kicking someone in the rear in business often has the downside of the kick being returned. Usually harder.
Interesting article considering how netbooks are taking off. "Users don't need all that power" argument. Pops up every 10 years of so (who ran those ads "The network is the machine"?) Yes, they do have their niche. Just doesn't fit mine.
And therefore have to file government reports? I know the RIAA is just an organization, but the members have to file, correct? Or am I missing something?
OK, I can understand that. (I also don't get the whole 'Prius is toxic' bit, either) But if you and your angry fellows are that angry, form a company that can afford those Veyron engineers to solve the problems you are angry at. I am angry at a lack of recycling, so I help out my local recycling center (recycles more than curb pickup) by informing people that there is a way to recycle more of their stuff. Basically, do something rather than yell at some random website.
(And please try not to involve the government, they will most likely waste the money on riders for studying social squirrel behavior.)
That's the one that is going to be put into the US Congress? All kidding aside, any links to that, because that is a massive leap, and this is the first I have heard of it. It's not that I don't believe you, it's that I like to read up on new tech. Thanks.
When I got to the point that it could out fly helicopters.... hoo boy.
The top-down is limited to a mere 217 MPH? I really, really hope no one takes a dog along for one of those rides. You know how dogs like to stick their heads out the window? Here, either the dog becomes a kite or its head inverts.
This is assigned to the BatCave of coolness. I love reading about the engineering aspects. Just the concept of producing a car that can go over 200 MPH with no top (that's insane aerodynamics) and not rip apart the whole thing? Add wings and the thing could glide for, well maybe 200 feet (it is 4000 pounds), but still! Need to find more info about the engine.
Yes, I should have mentioned that. There has been a recent 'enforcement' by theaters after parents complaining about their kids getting to see R rated movies. Not law, but a practical reality, at least in my area. Thanks for the follow up, I'll have to be more careful in the future.
As an aside, I think the MPAA is a complete joke in its execution of what it was designed to do. I have no problem with somebody giving a recommendation saying "This movie that has lots of decapitations may not be so fun for a 6 year old". Their implementation is way off at this point. A movie was made about the MPAA called something like "This movie is unrated". Very interesting.
But only if it keeps the original graphics! Too disturbing if a photo-realistic Ron Jeremy was involved.
In seriousness, more 'mature' games may bring in some new customers. I don't know anything about the ones that have been released. There is a need to make the mature games compelling and easy to use. I don't see a 'Halo' type game playing well with the remote unit.
That is pretty messed up. In the US your need to carry ID if you are driving, or want to do something restricted (buy alcohol or get into a R rated movie if you look young enough). If I go ride my bicycle I may take my ID in case I get into an accident, but I never bother if I go for a walk. Of course, I am a white guy in the suburbs; I don't look like a Muslim, and I don't look like a black man in a city. I'm fairly sure that these 2 groups get a lot more attention/harassment daily than I get in a year, which is very sad. If the Unibomber shaved and wore nice clothes, would anyone ever suspected him of being nuts?
Exactly. I like Descent for the Amiga back in college. At first I was a button smashing fool. Got a descent flight stick much better. Got a better, twisting flight stick, even better.
I never liked the mouse + keyboard for FPSs, probably because I lack fine motor control or my mouse wasn't very good. My example here is the Marathon series from Bungie. I could never get the vertical back correctly.
I am not a good gamer; my current favorite (latest) games are the Lego Star Wars/Indiana Jones games. Simple to play, easy controls. I use a Logitech PS2 type controller. I tried playing Halo on my friends box a few years ago, and I think I shot myself in the crotch.
As for the "40 button" type games, this is where I got left behind long ago. Once a game gets to a certain level of complexity just to play it, I'm done. Like I said, I'm not much of a gamer. I have MAME installed. I have the Namco classics PS1 game pack. Basically, compared to most people here, I suck.
Back to the main point, trying to play a flight simulator by using body motions such as flapping your arms and nodding your head is not going to cut it. SQLGuru hit it spot on- you need the right controls for how the game is to be played.
How do US gold coins stand in the gold market? If you buy it directly from the gov, you get the coin and a box and certificate. If you keep that intact does that protect the investment into the coin?
I am wondering about this because have gold securities is nice until the communication systems go down, so a little on-hand product would be nice.
You and the other commenter completely confused me, but it sounds neat (I do realize it has to with radio communication). Would you mind giving me some URLs to check out more about what you are talking about?
I would love to see the breakdown on costs for checking all these emails. How much did my email yesterday to my wife about my homework grade cost? I remember back when the whole tapping cell phone calls came out, when I called my mom I would randomly insert words like "terorist" "bombs" "nuclear plans" and other nonsense. I'm so dull the most dangerous thing I do is burn dinner, unless watching "Evil Dead 2" drives me insane and I become a terrorist with nuclear bomb plans!:)

After my vote, it's up to 88% furious.

It just SPEAKS VERY LOUDLY!
"We're angry"

I'm fairly sure I disagree with your disagreement. Wait, what are we talking about again?
"there are >8MW models in development."

Sure, sure the F1's are all great and all- but do they come with A/C and satellite radio? :)
Really amazing that the most limiting factor to these cars are gravity and the roads.

Same question about silver coins.
Yeah, I'm a little paranoid.

Yes, come get me NSA!

Totally off topic-
As I was scanning the comments, I read yours as "ve need to zee your peppers. Your peppers, bitch."
Talk about a whopping double take. My mind is doing backflips trying to put that into a movie.
