SourceForge does not offer hosting for dedicated servers (including those coming from the communities themselves that need hosting). We take a real hands-on approach as well. For example, a new 2-way mobo and procs are being shipped for one of Gentoo's AMD64 development boxes this coming week. Someone from the OSL will be available to perform the upgrade when it arrives. It is more of a server hosting environment than a managed project hosting environment.
SourceForge is great.. Most OSS apps out there need just what SF provides, and SF has been very influential in the development of Open Source software. I don't think that we can compare OSL and SF across the board, they each fill a purpose that the other doesn't, and the OSL is not out to replace SF. I hope that the above helps to answer your question..
It will most likely not be staggared for the next release, as we will have a major infrastructure upgrade by then allowing the update service to survive the hit all at once. The staggaring had to be done at this point in time.
You still have the same Unix labs that have been around forever, but with upgraded equipment. Oh, I take that back, the SGI lab was taken down, but you can still find an SGI on campus if you needed it.
They are just choosing not to give you a wired internet connection if you have such a device attatched.. That is perfectly legal and within their rights, FCC or not..
this goes along with the subject somewhat. Does anybody have experience sharing a bookmark file, let's say, being able to place bookmarks and view them across multiple computers and browsers? (I'm not sure if bookmark files have a uniform format so that may not be possible to do across browsers) I just have too many bookmarks, and when I go to look for one I can't remember if it was at home, work, laptop, or what?! Anyone have a good solution?
These files are mirrored on more than just TDS. Please use the redirector links I posted below so that TDS does not get hammered. Thanks

Here are the links to the videos (hosted on boxes outside of the webserver being slashdotted right now):

How about "No"...

Your suspected motive is way off..

You obviously don't understand how open source mirroring networks propagate their data. Ask the admin of your favorite mirror how he gets his stuff..
'nuff said.
