Home users do not need a LOT of software. They surf the internet and read email. Why do they need to run 3D games that run perfectly fine on a PS2? Why do they need to run executables in email, to be 100% virus compatible?
That is it. Grandma needs a 100% virus compatible computer! We need Windows XX for everyone!
I wanted to try Mac OS X, so I had to pay $500 in tax and it included the hardware to run it. Not bad. Now I do not have to worry about all the viruses, security issues, back doors, malware, spyware, adware and trojans that cannot be detected.
If you can't figure out how to admin your winXP box I suggest you buy a Mac. Now when I make that suggestion I just say that the Mini will plug into your monitor, keyboard and mouse. The user just needs to buy the Mini.
I no longer work for free, I suggest that the user buy from a company that has a better quality product, buy an Apple...
"97% of the market is not, and will continue to advise people to get what THEY know."
A lady at work wanted to buy a graduation gift for her daughter, I suggested she get a Mac if she did not want to do tech support or hear her daughter could not get her paper done because a virus at school. At that time I was a 90% Windows user and 10% Linux user, what did she buy? 12" iBook for her daughter.
A few weeks later the Mac Mini was introduced. What did I buy the same day it was announced? A Mac Mini!
I know a few other employees at work that are fed up with Windows and have already purchased Mac computers in the last 30 days...
Mac OS X, the ONLY version of UNIX your garandma can use!
For the Pee-See you need to write your own BIOS to get what you want. If you design firmware that is similar in function to what Apple uses on their products. Apple has been doing this for years. It might take the Pee-See vendors 10 or 20 years to do the same.
Next MS will offer your boss to outsource your work to Inda for $5. This proposal will help your company because the MS crew in India nave never lost any data.
The Mac had NO firewall and sustained the same number of hack attempts per hour that Windows XP did. It was not hacked in two weeks of constant attempts.

Proof that a solid and secure OS that is NOT popular has the same number of hackers trying to get in. I think apple has.01% of the desktop market.
Are your users happy with your level of service? How much money have you spent on desktop management? Are all your users local administrator? Cisco does not allow users to be local administrator...
Mac OS X has a built in emulator called Classic. The CD comes with the Mini and if you buy the Dummies book it tells all about Classic and how to use it. Looks amazing, a Mac Emulation inside OS X.
I have a couple of those Hoovers, when I want to watch TV or listen to music I just turn up the volume. That beige case looks real wicked next to the TV.
All our windows machines could have just blank passwords, even for the administrator. Heck, we wight as well just have replaced all those mainframes and UNIX machines before the Y2K bug and just used Windows with NO passwords.
Man just think of all the viruses, trojans, worms, malware, adware and phishing scams that we would have been protected from. Plus rather than sending our IT resources to India we could have fired half our staff when we eliminated passwords and had everyone just be local admin! What a concept!
I bet they are scared over the Mac Mini taking over this market. Combine 1080p HDTV with a digital payer that is 6.5x6.5x2 and consumes less than 85 watts with NO noise. On top of that it has a user interface that is renowned for its ease of use and the OS is know for its stable heritage, UNIX.
If the Mac Mini becomes the next entertainment system Intel has a LOT to loose. They lost a LOT of the farm on the failure of NetBurst. They lost MORE of the farm on the Itanium. Third loss might be catastrophic.:-(
I changed hardware and nothing works. TCP/IP, ethernet, Bluetooth, 802.11g, my monitor won't work, CDs won't play, speakers quit, mouse won't move the cursor and my keyboard will not create any characters.
WTF?
You are in the IT department and you quit, the company folds? I don't think so...
I am a new OS X user and I notice that when the printer is out of paper or turned off the printer icon in the dock starts bouncing. I can ignore it or open the print job and cancel it.
The focus is never taken from the active window.
Your Average Joe is now using a Mac Mini, why? Mac OS X is the only version of UNIX that your grandmother can use and not get frustrated with.
Mac Mini is $499 + a 1 gig stick of ram is $155. Then you do not have to pay any more Microsoft TAX. Lots of users are switching. I did and I love the interface, price has kept me buying PC's for the last 15 years... Not any more.

Microsoft products have more holes that swiss cheese. Today I just found out that NTFS and ACL's get cached and trashed. Make sure your web server doesn't have more than 4 million files on it, or you might just get hacked due to ACLs auto-magically removed. That is a feature you paid for.

They do it. You can go to ANY GM plan and see Fords and Chrysler cars right next to the GM cars. You will even see Cheap foreign cars. You might get some flack but not too much. It depends who you are as well...
The time has come, time for some pain, in the wallet. All those people who use Windows but really don't quite understand it should upgrade. This is the year that possibly millions of clueless Windows users will upgrade to the Mac Mini.
Vote with your wallet and quit working for free. Working for free fixing Bill's operating system that gets full of viruses, spyware, adware, malware and trojans. Quit helping friends fix their machine when Windows Update mucks it up.

I bet I can sell my Mac Mini on eBay for almost what I paid for it. Apple computers do NOT devaluate like Pee-Sees do.
