  1. Re:What video card needed ??? on KDE 3.1 Beta Released · · Score: 1

Your old GeForce2 will work just fine. I use a GeForce 256 which is even older and it works like a dream. Besides, what does your desktop environment have to do with your video card?

Actually, I think it's redhat based. The website describes installing

You are right. In fact Tribes 1 was actually titled 'Starsiege: Tribes'. But I'd rather have constant innovation than doing the same 'ol thing with a new name tacked on.

  5. Truly sad.. on Dynamix Closed Down? · · Score: 1

I watched my good friend from high school pour his heart and soul into this game. They re-invented the FPS and brought people together in a way which was more positive than other team games like tac ops and team fortress only tried to do. I would send my bud an email to console him but his account is probably already locked out :( Well hopefully Loki has the rights to continue with the game. This is a sad day for gamers.

I get so sick of having to create an account just to view content. It's just a pain in the ass, and just because i don't check the 'email me important info' box doesn't mean they won't. Of course if it was important, I might want it..

  7. squid proxy on Ethically Monitoring Your Kid's Net Access · · Score: 1

Contrary to what others said regarding squid, it can proxy more than just web stuff. And the logs will show everything. Something like calamaris is awesome for this.

Also, as the author of calamaris points out, once you read a few log files you realise that most people (including kids) aren't really doing anything that terrible. I ran reports with it once or twice, and got quite bored.
