    Music always was a shared cultural heritage of all people in a community.

    Musicians made a living performing, writing music for others (sponsored by rich patrons like the church, the nobility, the burgoise or the State in communist countries), it was common practice to freely took music by another composer and use it in your own compositions ("variations over a theme of..." are legion in the classical music world).

    The recording industry is trying to steal away our cultural heritage, and here you are, justifying them.

    But if the price is to be treated like a criminal on arrival and to start building a "record" on file in the US, then I will pass and will boycott the US as a touristic destination (and even as an stopover, better fly to Paris, Amsterdam or Madrid, were as a Mexican I am treated with dignity and fly from there to my own country, without been hindered by idiotic US immigration regulations and crass attitudes).

    Your definition of intelligence clearly does not match mine, I don't consider people that defend the "wisdom" passed to us by ignorant shepperds, religious zealots or camel herders, intelligent.

    If you do all the power to you, I just hope people fighting evolutionary theory would be consistent and reject any benefits to their lifes arised for its day to day application in medicine, biology, etc. Then those people may earn some respect although I would still roll my eyes in disbelief.

Is that not stating the fucking oibvious?) actually cares, in a place that people are thrown out in jail at the whim ot this person you try to justify so warmly.

    With all due respect, but you have no idea what you are talking about.

    First of all Red Hat, or any other company for that matter, are not appropriated the work of others. That is a vulgar lie.

    The people that have produced the software (Red Hat payed employees amongst them) have released it under licensing terms that allows companies like Red Hat to make bussiness. All the GPLed parts are freely available, and they not only make them available but are contributing to a completely free project like Fedora.

    Red Hat, under the terms of the GPL, is nopt obliged to produce anything if they do not wish to do so. They could just package the software and charge for those services, but what they are selling is support training and advice.

    Software is a commodity, the GPL helps to comodize it.

    You are a vulgar liar and should be ashamed of yourslef or are a completely ignorant person that can't even take the time to understand the GPL but then ejaculates an opinion like if you knew what you are talking about.

    The Indians are not stealing your jobs. US people in particular, and Western people in general, are pricing themselves too high given the expensive lifestyles they lead.

    Which expensive lifestyles? SUVs, overeating, rampant consumerism, irrational Imperial wars in the other side of the planet. All tha adds up until your economy, or parts of it, become uncompetitive.

    Indians are "stealing" your jobs in the same sense that a more capable, cheaper worke in the US would be stelaing your job if he was hired to do it instead of yourslef, comrade.

    As for the English capabilities of the Indians,, frankly, stop beating that horse. It has been fucking dead for ages.

    I don't understand why people are so set on in the monopoly mentality. They get a choice to exercise their freedom, and what to they do? Demand to lose that freedom of choice.

    First of all, if you can't be bothered to write without all the lame abbreviations (a complete lack of respect to the people you are talking to) I will not necessarily concede that you are one of the normal people, because I find you extremely pedantic.

    Conceding you are not like this in real life, what you are saying is nonsense.

    UNIX has succeeded and continues to succeed every day: companies that need mission critical systems normaly look for UNIX base solutions first since it is a proven, economical, scalable choice.

    Not that Linux is in town big companies are looking at it, and frankly Linux has taken by storm the back office in many companies (ISPs could not be viable without Linux. Googlewould not be viable without Linux).

    So frankly your measure of success must be quite particular.

    And as for UNIX backups not being easy, I will pass and will not explain to you how wrong you are. Ignorance and inexperience is something that can't be put straight in the short time it takes to write an /. reply....

    .... until very recently, Japanese workers did not lose their jobs. If they were not really needed any more they were given a menial job where they could not hurt profits and be respected for their previous contributions to their company.

    It may not make financial sense, but shows where the long term thinking is. Compare such attitude with the typicaly USian way of getting rid of somebody: escorting the employee out of the building like a criminal. If that reflects any long term thinking (removing all vestiges of a corporate memory) then I am Batman, the awesome cape crusader.

    The Japanese pretty much command high tech in the houselds of every person on this planet. Even the cheap imports from China normally have Japanese design and innovation in the back.

    Car industry? Japan.

    Eletronics? Japan.

    Robotics? Japan.

    Even entertainment, Japan controls both the generation and reproduction of muscial and filmographic content.

    Frankly I don;t know what you are smoking, but many people will be very enthusiatic to get such quality stuff....
