    I don't understand in the first place why would anyone even want to argue if a system is "more UNIX" than another, but to say a graphical interface is "more unix than another" sure made me laugh.

    and you do know that OS X's pixels are more UNIX than Linux's pixels, right?

    and OS X ASCII is WAY MORE UNIX than Linux ASCII

    Mac OS X vs Linux user interface isn't even a fair fight. seriously. KDE and Gnome are sad kludges in comparison

    BSD vs Linux underpinnings. a closer comparison perhaps, but still not even close. BSD wins in a landslide.

    your question may be answered if you are willing to sit through 3 hours of the alpha geeks sparring over who understands Damian Conways latest obsfucation most, hopefully with many examples of their own variations to programs that have no real use. meetup at break with someone who didn't participate in that discussion and note they don't know what the hell they are there for either

    besides, anyone who doesn't know enough about perl to make changes to it's internals is a lamer

    I love using perl, but in my experience, the community around it is lead by pretentious people who think you suck

    ok, I admit I haven't attended one of these in years, but now you know why

    your mileage may vary, hopefully much better results than mine were

    I have leopard on a 3+ year old dual G5, a 3 year old iMac, and Mac Mini and my wife has an intel iBook

    all with Microsoft office and VLC and Firefox.

    NOT A SINGLE CRASH EVER ON ANY BOX

    however, Office will alway throw a spurious error loading the "microsoft framework" despite service pack after service pack. if anything I'd call it purposeful, maybe to bait morons like this author
