Nooo.... you don't get it (or are you trolling too?) The phony ad is a husband and wife saying how tekken helped save their marriage. They have it out on the screen ("This is for 25 years of Macaroni and cheese... whap!", etc)
The *troll* was the guy who said it was a picture of some guy's head cut up...
I'll bet using Kenwood's CD scheme would help with
CD power drain.
Kenwood drives (like the 52x and 72x) spin much slower, but read 7 tracks in parallel to give much faster read times. I would guess that the spinning would eat up most of the CD power.
So to have a 12x drive, you would have to really spin at 2x and probably would spin up and down faster.
Here is a link to the Army Landwarrior system which uses ruggedized 4x1x8" dual-processor pentium systems to help foot soldiers. It's part of the Advanced Warfighting Experiment. The systems are encased in gel to ruggedize them, cool then and shock proof them.
200 mAh is a strange capacity to list. I guess they want to highlight the 10 seconds to charge.
The new AA NiMH batteries are 1200-1600 mAh batteries. But then, my fast charger takes about 1 1/2 hour to charge them. It would be much better to charge them a minute...
To offer more to the customer, shops should pre-install an operating system - and Linux should be a choice. That way the customer would know that their hardware works when they buy it. The thing is, some companies charge the same amount as windows to install linux - probably because if you install it, you're the one they come to for questions.
Heck, if I were to get a system with Linux pre-installed, I would probably re-install it to make sure I knew what the configuration options were.
I wonder how many people purchase a computer with the intent of installing linux on it? I tend to build my own desktop machines, but I bought my Sony VAIO laptop expressly to install linux.
Actually, the technology is interesting. This TIVO box will probably record the programs digitally - without any analog steps in between, just like the DishPlayer. If you've ever compared
digital satellite tv to analog reception, there's quite a difference in quality. (except watching characters during fast motion or lightning - mpeg breaks down there)
This would make it possible to build houses that
are REALLY remote. You could sink a well, add a
septic system and with one of these and a propane
tank you could be completely self-sufficient.
I think it might be nice to have a unit like this
that also includes a hybrid water heater. It would
heat the water and the remainder would come from
the propane tank.
Now it says how efficient it is, but what does
that translate to in terms of propane/natural
gas cost? How long would a large propane tank
last?
Like This? (exploding grenade photo near bottom of page)
Also interesting are These. (several high-speed photos - playing cards and fruits being shot)
These aren't video though - that would add an extra dimension.
aren't you confusing frame rate and shutter speed?
Hmmm... what about the flayer jungle in Diablo 2?
:-)

Ok, maybe games don't lead to violence, but malicious trolls attacking my humorous post was sick...
They make me want to take someone's head off.
I wonder how many flames/trolls lead to violence?
:-)
Adcritic& lt;/A> has a GREAT spoof ad for the Sony Playstation and Tekken. (unfortunately requires quicktime...)
Your firewall has been hacked
you gotta moderate that one up :-)
Where does the name of ogg vorbis come from?
I never saw it in any FAQs...
:-)
You could always hold up the release until all
the bugs in the database were fixed...

The scary part - they run win 2k

Here is Dave Barry's scheme to revamp social security.

Does this system (unintentionally) implement poverty?
If I'm in a third world country using a 486 with a small hard disk and a slow modem and/or ISP, do I end up with limited access to information?

I think the Russian computer was named Guardian,
right?
Crap. If this continues, there won't be ANYWHERE on the moon to ride my dirtbike.
Was it an open acknowledgement? I think the breakin story was posted by the guys who cracked the system... :-)
The LATER story was from the victims...
what about government mandated planet-side
airbags in case of collision?
