I am curious...as a non-USAian why you find the current president lacking in backbone military wise. This even considering he went after Bin Laden in Pakistan without informing or getting permission from Pakistan a clear violation of their sovereignty and quite possible an act of war against Pakistan.
He even did something similar in Somalia to free hostages from capture by pirates. (Although no one would probably complain about that, since Somalia is not even close to being a functioning state)
To me it seems he has more backbone than most Presidents of the USA. It seem however he does it smarter, going after the right people instead of trying to invade entire nations.
Yeah, it most likely is a regional thing. In Denmark (and i believe it similar in the rest of the nordic countries) we refer to it as Ecological, or in danish Økologisk. Often these products are then prefixed with Øko in normal conversation, but it is similar til ot he german use of Bio, or indeed "organic" products from english speaking countries. In Denmark these products can additionally be goverment certified as "Øko" with a nice red mark on the packaging: http://www.foedevarestyrelsen.dk/Foedevarer/Oekologi/O_maerket/Sider/forside.aspx (in danish, sorry)
They should be in the clear legally, unless they participated. Otherwise every sleazy bar owner somewhere would be criminally liable if a big enough collection of criminals frequented the bar.
The laws against harboring criminals usually apply only to fugitives.
Actually, this has happened in the danish parliament as well a few times.
Since nobody can be experts on all subjects the danish representatives usually follow the spokesperson on the topic of the legislation thats being voted for. If they accidentally hit the wrong button the voting machine, the rest might follow.
This interesting. 5683, 2580, 0852 don't seem to have any special significance, they aren't even a particular pattern on the keypad, nor especially natural to punch in, ie right handed, using your thumb.
Actually 2580 and 0852 is the middle row of keys from top to bottom or vice versa. I agree with the strangeness of 5683 though.
At least in danish traffic law, it is illegal to drive in to a blocked intersection, but yeah, that can be tricky when a lot of roads filter into a single one, as it might be all but impossible from some of the roads to actually move forward.
If anyone had seriously looked at it, they would have realized that Silverlight only really works under Windows. Yes, I know about Moonlight, but simply reading the WikiPedia article about it [wikipedia.org] will tell you that what works under Silverlight will not necessarily also work under Moonlight.
Actually, when he referred to cross platform. I believe he was saying OS X and Windows, which are both rather well supported. I agree completely with Moonlight being completely useless though.
Not exactly. They are running on a rather low budget almost exclusively from what people donate. A lot of the stuff they have gotten has been donated by the manufacturing them. This isn't a a rich kid having fun, this is two nerdy danish engineers trying something crazy.
They are launching from sea to also escape a lot regulation in Denmark which would have to be followed with a launch on land.
keep having to point this out to people, time and time again: broadcasting and DRM are mutually exclusively incompatible. Free Software people recognise this, and anyone who fails to recognise it is just plain dumb. or is being paid to pretend to be dumb.
Well, i think the proponents of DRM solutions mostly recognize that it is not a perfect solution, it can however be effective at keeping the copying of content to a minimum. It is all about minimizing piracy for the movie studios, they know they can't completely get rid of it. Even if they could get rid of it, then who would they blame for shitty revenue;)
I agree the process to add an exception is a bit long and overly complicated.
That being said, having a device generate a new self-signed cert on every boot seems like really bad security. It more or less invites man-in-the-middle attacks, since you are not relying on the SSL cert to be the same. So as long as an attacker presents you with a self-signed cert you would just accept it.
An income of 3000$ a month is at most a mediocre pay in Denmark.
For IT professionals 4500$ is fair but still not a _great_ salary.

You also kinda display you lack of knowledge about the phones you are refering to.
I'ts not Sony and Ericsson phones. Its SonyEricsson, its combined. Also, a lot has happened to theese phones since the Ericsson days. Today, many of the SonyEricsson phones are very sleak and usually a bit more innovative than Nokia.
Also, i don't know where you live, but in Denmark SE is a pretty common phone. And once people has seen my W810i, they tend to get impressed and switch from Nokia.
When copying checks, a criminal might be copying information that was given to him as a part of a regular transaction with the method of payment. The same with creditcards. The holder of the check/creditcard only gave out what is needed to complete a transaction.
If you as a user fill out forms on a fishing site with username and password, you are giving away info that you should ONLY give to your bank, ie. information not needed to do any financial transaction outside your bank. Thats where the difference is.
I am not sure why you all are so sure that apple donated money somehow. I see this much more as done by the US Government by itself to protects its own interests. The US is the home of most large media companies and Apple. If they turn a larger profit it will eventually benefit the US. I believe thats why they act like they do. Not because of lobbying or bribes.
Not only do you completely miss the point of the parent, by arguring against numbers harmfulness, whereas the parent talked about sharing art. You also manage to drag in terrorists and child porn. If it weren't so said i would mod you Funny.
PEAR DB however is not installed as standard, and is not installed on many webhosts. It's part of free PEAR library of good reusable code for PHP and is pretty easy to install if you are the admin of a server.
It is an extremely big deal. Don't worry, there is as much noise over this in EU, as there is in US when similar laws get passed there. I have seen dozens of protest sites, and have personally written to several danish members of the european parliament, most of them against this kind of regulation.
You should come to Copenhagen, Denmark. Almost all roads in any city/suburb has dedicated bicycle paths :)
Why exactly would it be NTSC instead of PAL? I mean, PAL is even a never standard than NTSC iirc.

Normally that would be "remonce" which is a mix of butter, sugar and often marcipan (or finely chopped almonds)

But if your reliability depends on the same cloud as your competitor, the reliability is basically the same.

Secret Service hasn't been a part of the Treasury since march 2003. Now it is also a part of DHS.
Actually MPEG can be a container format as well, as in MPEG-2 Transport streams or Program streams.

Some would claim, that neither does the US.

You got a point, but the wrong set of routers.
D-link, Belkin, and Netgear is crap and has these issues.
However, Linksys certainly does not. I have never had issues with Linksys routers. ZyXel is as crappy as the rest.

How did the parent get modded insightful?
The check comparison is invalid and this is why:
When copying checks, a criminal might be copying information that was given to him as a part of a regular transaction with the method of payment. The same with creditcards. The holder of the check/creditcard only gave out what is needed to complete a transaction.
