as i understand it, the Event Horizon is the singularity limit from which light cannot escape. the Innermost Stable Orbit is the closest distance a physical object in space can orbit the black hole without being sucked into it.
use the iPhone. It has a good hard drive for programming and picture storage. Also its accelerometer, built in geotagging and GPS capability, along with its built in camera.

Shampoo is a mad genius who can save the world. I think that the Shampoo phenonmenon can take the world like "All your base..." on crack. I have invented t-shirts that have LED displays that spout random 'inventions' from a random text generator at random intervals. At the bottom of the shirt in bold glitterly lettering will be the words, "This idea was invented by Shampoo." This idea was (not) invented by Shampoo.
None of us know all the facts of the situation, but I think it's pretty obvious that this guy was just trying to maintain his livelyhood through a misguided attempt at job security. If we had an IT Union looking out for our careers that gave us some sort of protection against the arbitrary whims of upper-management, then maybe this wouldn't have happened.
As for the idea that the guy might have shared his password with some unscrupulous feind... how many of you, had you actually been given admin access to SAN FRANSISCO would really share that password with anyone? Drastic, misguided, sure... but stupid? Come on, there had to be a reason he got the job in the first place.
Has there been any mention of making the information, rather than his collection of the information, classified? sounds like another case of putting a top-secret band-aid on a sympthom and forgetting about the disease it self.
Q: Which came first, the chicken, or the egg? A: I'm sorry but reasons of national security that question cannot be answered.
i tested it with a friend's account. it seems that a page comes up displaying the message that the email has been sent, however, it has not arrived in my inbox.
When there is talk in Congress about making cyber-crimes punishable by life-imprisonment, Symantec has a resposibility to warn the masses about Internet threats. They have a reputation as "the anti-virus company" and as such they have to live up to that reputation. To say that they will sit on information that they know will disrupt millions of people, businesses, and educational instituitons andonly provide warnings to the people that pay them is admittance or extortion.
yeah, he crashed at my pad for a week or so back in 98ish. he has some interesting characteristics, to say the least. eventually, my roomie made me kick him out.
Can you explain more about "[w]e help each other getting trash off the space station without telling the folks in Houston."
This sounds very suspicious.
What about the Indonesian man who's 145 years old?
I count four wheels, not two.

I love that they were ready (by the phone) for any emergency situation.
