    Z% of your customers want closed source.

    The questions is what is X, Y, Z in your field of dreams (err, Business plan)?
    More business and governments are demanding GPL, but is it big enough for you?

    As others have said, Arnold is a RINO to most Republicans. (Republican in Name Only)

    However, A quick true story will help understand the grayness of Liberal vs Conservative.
    A colleague of mine moved from CA. to OK. In CA, he thought he was a conservative. In OK, he discovered he was a liberal who was a little to the right towards being a moderate.

    In other words, Conservative/Liberal is in the eyes of the beholder!

    OK has a limited legislative session also.

    As a Staunch Republican, I use Linux, ODF, release pgms under GPL. So Dem/Rep is not limited to Linux/Windows.

    Others can qualify for the ballot here in OK. These rules were put together to stop 100's of parties being on the ballot. It DOES cost money. OK, The rules may need to be adjusted.

    If he was speaking at a public forum, instead of a tax-payer sponsored event, I might agree with you. Past abuse, by the liberals, against conservative speakers, may make the Politicians a little thin skinned.

    BTW, you are playing the same game, by condemning all Republicans. As I tell my liberal friends, say that again, only substitute xxx (black, gay, Muslim, ...) for Republican and then decide if it now becomes hate speech? If so, you are a hypocrite.

    The weather sucks everywhere, one way or another. (Floods, Earthquakes, Tornadoes, Hurricanes, Snow, Ice).

    It is illegal in most states to record without permission of both parties. If you want to do this see a lawyer first. I left my former job with 3 days notice. They cut it back to two days, because I had nothing left to do, after handing over my work. They paid me for the extra day. I started work on the next Monday at my new job.

    THE obvious choice has changed over the years. THE right decision is wrong several years later. So who gets to make the call?

    • Big Brother Government? - They do some much perfectly.
    • A Standard Organization? - They handled office file format standard so well.
    • Stock Market? - They can no longer afford anything.
    • The United Nations? - Which language version?
    • An Internet Poll? - so scientific
    • Free Market Choice? currently in use.

    "get called to account" - sounds like what happens if you lie. What if you tell the truth, but are punished? In a small town, you can get fired or demoted, for speaking out at a city council meeting, as the BIG corporation really runs the town.

    I have found that most people will not state their opinions if they are forced to sign them. The consequences of a opinion can be far more severe than is justified from those in power. Too often those in power, abuse power. Which side you are on, does not matter, both side have a fringe that goes off the deep end. For a few examples, see Nixon, J. Edgar Hoover, College Faculty (tenure granting is power). Ben Franklin had to use a pseudo-name so he would not be arrested. Writers during the witch hunts of the McCarthy era. Women writers had to pretend to be men to get published.

    Anonymous is very useful! If you use is wisely! Put forth your arguments clearly and logically. Stir the emotions only as needed. Leave the hate behind. Leave the anger behind.

      A) Find flaw
      B) Notify privately those affected.
      C) Give normal amount of time to fix.
      D) Notify public to force ISP's to DO THEIR JOB.

    Why complain? Too many people on slashdot are whiners! If you don't want to help, don't respond! That is the beauty of "open source". Help if you want or don't.

    I have been programming for over 30 years and am considered a guru by my peers. But I know my limitations. For example I would not touch a SAP project with out help, because I have no experience.

    Maybe the solution for everyone, is to have a category for "I need help" that people like you can tell slashdot not to show on your home page.

    For those who are not observant: this comment is recursive and sarcastic.

    My first reaction was this was an undercover M$ person or other proprietary type, that wants to hide their driver and not be bothered by the GPL.
