Not according to the bird expert from the George Miksch Sutton Avian Research Center. You know, the people that saved the bald eagle? The slow moving wind farms don't kill birds, because they avoid tall vertical structures. The side effects are:
disrupt migratory patterns, for miles (need gaps)
Take away habitat right in the most vital (uninhabited) areas
I have someone else do my taxes, so apply a grain of salt. Oklahoma has some kind of line on the income tax form for internet sales tax that you failed to pay.
When I teach the Computer Merit Badge, I ask this trick question.
Q: How many computers exists on the OFFICIAL INTERNET?.... A: One! Root DNS server (A)
Later we get to 13. But the rest of the computers, routers, servers, DNS's, DHCP, etc. on the internet belong to a corporation or local government. Only one belongs to the "official" internet, IANA.
Is this correct? I know it is a simplification, but I use this as a training tool to introduce ISP's roles.
Someone wore a photo mask and tripped a speed camera to give their partner proof that they were across town (LA) at the time of the murder. He noticed the shadow under the nose was wrong by comparing previous and following pictures from the same camera. I am not sure which episode it was. Peter Falk as Det. Lt. Colombo
In Oklahoma NO ONE may can themselves an engineer, unless they pass the Registered Engineer exam, pay the yearly fee, have a seal for all documents, etc., etc., etc. I consider it a SCAM. Dating back to bridge scandals. I am sure there are other states, that are the same way.
> "Didn't Linus Torvalds build Linux from scratch, based upon Minix?" >>Huhh??? >>Linus Torvalds didn't write Linux at least he didn't write Linux as we all know it.
Minix was just a tool he used to write the "first" Linux 0.1 and yes Linus wrote ALL of the first "release" of Linux(tm)(the kernel). He used many other peoples programs on top of the OS to make the "distro", which did not exist for a long time.
This is still a simplification of the beginning history, the rest is left to the student to research and write a 1,000 word essay by Friday.
I am NOT a lawyer, but my father-in-law is! (hmmm, so what?) As some recent cases in Europe show, They may "steal" GPL code from many people, but if one copyright holder sues and wins, everyone wins! So the assignment clause, does not hold water on this ONE argument. It does server other purposes and is a valid requirement, but comes with a negative side too. I personally will not contribute to any project that has this requirement. My contributions, have stayed my own, under GPLv2.
That being said. I still think this fork is *long over due* and is required to "patch around damage". Sun has made too many mistakes and too many enemies.
Only the western half of Oklahoma is flat. the NE is hilly, the SE mountains.
When I travel from Bartlesville (NE) to Stillwater/OSU (central), the up/down,up/down in-between is a killer, and the dirt magically turns from brown to red (clay).
And NO, we do not wear six-shooters to work. (We carry, 9mm Glock, just kidding ATF!)
Misuse of other people's code without permission is theft. It does not matter if the license is GPL or Commercial. Misuse of either will cause the same legal consequences. The difference is often what the owner will accept as an out of court settlement.
Today my cell phone change its built-in logo from Cingular to AT&T! Two days ago my son's changed. My Wife's phone has not changed yet. Sure took a long time for the name change.
Everyone that has a license is "playing the game". That is required by most copyright laws. The only truly free software is in public domain, the downside to PD is code confiscation that is possible. BSD, GPL, M$ all use a license with restrictions. A restriction limits one or more freedoms. You have to choose which freedom to give up.

Choose:
A. Freedom: (Teach all versions)
B. Censorship: (Teach Evolution only)
C. Censorship: (Teach ID only)
D. Teach nothing.
First the Church did censorship (B), then the scientist did censorship (C), I think it is about time for Freedom (A).
Amtrack only covers a VERY small percent of the country. Oklahoma is trying to get it back.
Its another attempt to bring back passenger trains (at taxpayer expense).

Can you prove that the Mormon's said this? or is it just "common knowledge"?
"Sitting on my encounter-suited butt."
Do Vorlons have butts?? They are energy beings!
Wearing a tie is a *sin* against man and God!

Columbo and the Murder of a Rock Star, 1991 and yes Dabney Coleman was the bad guy.
The show ran from 1971 to 2003, like I said, I don't remember which episode, but I seen it several times.

As point out in the article, the study was funded by a company that makes a "drug" to fix this!

The other example of a good fork, is Joomla!
I have one from a school auction. I thought of refurbishing it. Half the paint is gone, including lines, numbers.

1. Have 50 naked people spell out a "message"
a) very near the site of a probable use.
b) example: political conventions and protest site.
2. artwork on the ground, plastic warning tape (do-no-cross) is quick, cheap, easy to remove.
3. etc.

If you have a fax machine and a phone system with call transfer, transfer the call to the fax machine.
Check with your lawyer, the feds have a law against junk faxes.
Parent: get a new lawyer. Send a Cease and Desist letter. Then it is illegal.
Just who owns the "rights" you speak of? Not SCOx, but Novell! The distribution rights would revert back to Novell?
