    Being a college bookie is difficult. Not only do you have to have the right audience (i.e. this would work great at Texas A&M but not at say, MIT), but you also need the startup capital, and some kind of enforcement mechanism.

    That means you can't be afraid to go Joe-Pesci-In-Casino style on someone who won't pay.

    A very good point. Just because a candidate is considered tech-savvy does not mean that he or she can make a living as a full time sys admin.

    Definitely cheers to the Dean campaign for using the Net to boost support, it's certainly a good idea. If only the Bush campaign would do the same, although I do give them credit for making a public database of all their campaign contributions.

    How creepy. I was setting up a relative's DSL modem yesterday, when I saw that the RPC service was shutting down the machine. Thought it was just Windows XP being retarded, but I guess it's time for a new visit.

    The box hadn't been on the internet for more than 15 minutes.

    Actually, this patch was done strategically.

    Apparently, there are a high volume of European developers at SCO, and they evidently own the copyright on the spelling of words with -ou insted of the American English -o.

    This is just keeping Linux safe from yet another threat.
