A responsive sub-flooring system made up of blocks that depress slightly under the force of human steps would be installed beneath the station's main lobby.
How big are the blocks? Would two people be able to stand on the same block? How much does the block move up and down? Does the entire block move so the surface is always horizontal? How hard is the surface? What is the connection of two blocks like? I have lots of little questions.
This could range from walking on a gym mat to walking on an air mattress. I would think they worked it out so there's no any edges for people to trip on or make hauling luggage a even bigger pain.
The legallity of the action being performed doesn't change just because a computer lets them do more of it or do it faster
Though sometimes additional laws are passed making the "enhanced activity" illegal. For instance, internet hunting. It's illegal to hunt over the internet in some states even though the computer is just letting me do more of it or do it faster.
In your view, it would be perfectly acceptable to have every 10 ft a pole with chemical and radiological detectors, video and sound (with disclaimers posted) recording equipment tracking everything in public with computers running facial recognition software with a mounted weapons system and a mobile restraint system.
Just because something is technically legal doesn't mean it's right. For a living in an ex-colony that overthrew its legal English government, you sure want to live in a police state.
Yes, I understand that spreadsheets aren't the correct tool. A lot of times in IT, you don't get a lot of say in the tools you use either because of management, budget, or someone else has switched the tools fifty times already. During high school and college, I maybe used a spreadsheet twice. Personally, I used it to track expenses.
Sticking with paper checks instead of direct deposit doesn't change much. The company says they overpaid and asks if you would like to pay them back with a check or have it taken out of your paycheck.
From my personal, high school, college, and work experience, I've used spreadsheets 98% of the time for text. The other 2% used numbers and simple formulas. If I got real crazy a chart.
My informal research (if you want to call it that)
White background is more professional looking. It is also easier to read text in a large variety of colors. Black background is more "cool" orientated - gaming sites, etc. It is easier on the eyes as long as the text color stands out and font size is large enough.
psychology - the study of mind and behavior in relation to a particular field of knowledge or activity
Just because it's not about you wanting to have sex with your mom doesn't mean it's not psychology.
Pre-flop odds are all calculated on what your hand is. Statistically you know your chances on winning are. Your opponent's hand doesn't matter to you since it's unknown to you and doesn't factor into the odds.
A zero-day worm would not be stopped by an up to date anti-virus software. Same thing could have with a virus, but good email habits are likely to prevent infection. Once infected, you can't trust installed firewalls or anti-virus since they're the first thing targeted by the exploit.

Smart people care. Where do you draw the line? If your computer was infected with a bot, would you want your ISP to A) notify you and give you tools to clean your computer B) Reformat your computer
Both options deal with the problem.
I'm surprised that bots aren't boobytrapped against this sort of action, but as the summary states using IRC for bots is yesterday's news.
If they ever get CNR 7 up and running, that might be another claim to fame. Support for
Debian
Fedora
Freespire
Linspire
OpenSUSE
Ubuntu Original timetable was Q2 2007. Current timetable is "in a few weeks" and "soon".
I just use video-out to show it on my TV. I've watched shows on all of the network sites. None of them are perfect, but the commercial breaks are only one commercial long.
While I could live without DVD support on most of my systems, not having legal support for other common proprietary file formats (especially MP3, MPEG and WMV/WMA) is a total deal breaker.
OK, more likely he's just trying to get page hits.
You can buy software that runs on Linux that has proper licensing for those formats./story
1. This might be because sugar cane isn't used for fuel yet. 2. No fuel (or a limited supply) for a year is not a good idea. Also you're assuming a disaster limited to one growing season. Crops failures have gone on longer than that. Human caused failures such as defoliants and insect infestation are other possible causes of failures.
We have corn and sugar beet crops that could be used for the regular process. Not sure if soy would work for that also. I do think having a cellulosic ethanol plant (if it works as advertised)is a better option because it should work with a variety of US sources.
Two issues 1. Traded dependency on foreign oil to foreign sugar cane 2. Sugar cane crops being wiped out by natural or artificial means would instantly cause problems with the economy and fuel supply.
Besides delaying, you can patch a limited number of computers at a time so if a patch BSODs a computer at startup(yes, we've had this happen) or has problems with specific software on your systems. You have limited impact on the company. You don't need test systems that your company may not want to buy, you just need a limited number of guinea pigs. With the limited number, you can back out the changes or restore from a backup. Fixing 5-10 in the morning is better than fixing 100 with the whole company at a standstill.
I thought Canadians were already paying media tax on blank media (cdr, hard drives, etc) to make up for piracy. In that case, you should be able to pirate in Canada. Otherwise, CRIAA is just making money off you for no reason.
I really don't think they're worried. There was bad press for the 360, so they figured a price cut now would take advantage of people that were skeptical of 360. Plus Sony isn't totally worried about being 3rd in the gaming market because the PS3 is helping push Blu-Ray. I think Sony is more worried about HD-DVD than the 360.
This is a feature that I've wanted for awhile. This is especially handy when trying to give directions to people. Automated routes sometimes aren't the best. A few tweaks and you could have directions that follow a route that you know is better or easier to follow. Avoid construction, bad intersections, traffic jams that will probably happen, but haven't yet.
Whitelists will prevent 1. your stranded grandma from calling you 2. friends calling from their friends house 3. that cute girl you just met 4. various official phone calls that you really needed to receive
Luckily, whitelists will still allow your mom to call from upstairs when dinner is ready.
There's 17 of them at a local dealer. Price tag on the windshield was 26000+. Coworker even saw one being driven last winter. Way overpriced. Here's my calculations 20000 miles a year 30 mpg avg $3.00 a gallon avg (might need to redo this calculations) $2000 a year in gas. If I upgrade to a car that averages 60 mpg, I'll save $1000 a year. It will take 5 years(same as a lot of auto loans) to come out even to less fuel efficient car that cost 5 grand less. $14000, I can see. $26000, hell no.

Thousands of government computers mysteriously crashed today. Official spokesman stated "sunspots" as the probable cause.
