This is about cuba not having money to feed children... let alone US pressure to pay licences that would be on use.
This is also about recent approaches by leftist Lula da Silva of Brasil who has the balls to help fellow people of the latin american community, instead of say, starving them to death like the U.S. wants to do.
And mind you. No latin american nation supports Castro, but most latin americans love cubans. I dont know why, its a fetish with us. We are in love with the cuban nation. Not fidel.
So suffice it to say that US is not precisely popular amongst freedom loving latinamericans.
Most third world nations (like mine) cannot trade with cuba either because the US sanctions that would apply to us would be a business killing nightmare.
Result: Canadians have a great commercial corridor because the US cannot impose on them as easyly. So Canadians sell to cuba freely, and very ver expensively, all their technology.
That sucks for: a) American companies b) Third world companies c) Cuba
And rulez for: Smart, ballsy canadians that dont give a shit of where the US cares to throw their very high and mighty hand.
MSOffice training is a HUGE international business. I can personally attest to hundreds of people comming to our neighbor's offices (Executrain) to be trained in MSOffice.
Hell, they send the same people every year to get re-trained.
Training is a must foreverything in big organizations. The fact that you dont need training doesnt mean companies dont spend gazillions of money exactly for training in MSOffice.
And I would much rather live in a country full of doctors and biologists and engineers than a country of assembly line workers and farmers. The aforementioned jobs all translate to a higher quality of life.
Mhm.... doctors, biologists and engineers...oh, you mean intelligent people?
America cant be that...Im sorry, the US population proved their incredible naivite and plain low IQ level when they chose GWB as their president... TWICE...
Well... they seem to be getting better at that. It looks like Miguel de Icaza has more than 'some'brains, and so do many of the aquired ximian team.
On the other hand, they do have a lot of 'suits'... i agree that technically they are about as intelligent as a standard light switch (probably much less), but hey.... they are there to sell.
Novell has survived a long armed fight against the main behemoth.... twice...
And its getting up and going for it again.
The behemoth is such not because of master programmers, but because of an army of +100 undead suit droids....
Novell has some good suit droids.... good enough to survive a-many wars....
You can add that to up2date and almost all thats missing in rhel is there (mono, for example).
Also, i found out that up2date --install {whatever} and up2date --get-available andwell... up2date really is very workable... even for someone comming from debian.
It actually has some advantages regarding package signing (for example) although im shure debian has most of that as well...its just not used to muchdue to the size of the distro.
I have reconciliated with redhat... and i hope they make the right move with fedora and more strongly support it and repositories like dag's
Simple. Turn on the mod_dav, modify the part where http://server/~username means/home/username/public_html and change it to something less cumbersome than the tilde.
Turn the gid bit on for the public_html directories.
Turn on group quotas for the partition.
Add www-data to each of the user's unique groups.
Careful though. This server will only be suitable for webdaving as adding www-data to many groups may make things very insecure if youre allowing your users to do scripting, ssh in or things like that.
On the other hand, perhaps a self compiled version of apache. Very stripped down. And look for a file creation mask/user/group in the httpd.conf options for dav.
This apache would probably have to run as root....
Okay, perhaps its not as simple as i thought. All of the above sucks.
Well. I think they can pull it off. Theyll go all the way up to the supreme.
Since the supreme is own3d by your dearly chosen ass of the millenium (Bush) and, he in turn, holds ballmer as a great big chunk of what he calls his 'base', software patents will be accepted and confimed in final words by the supreme.
Congrats americans. Youve fucked up.... twice this millenium.
This is a great point. The last US president i can remember that actually 'won' guerrilla situations was reagan. And he did it through butchering and terrorizing the population supporting (otherwise LEGITIMATE) guerrilla movements in Salvador, Guatemala and elsewere in central and central america.
Mind you i think Reagan and the US military, and people that supported this are nothing but stupid murdering, blood thirsty thugs (beheading qualifies as innocent childplay when compared to what the US special forces did in the 80's in central america), but if we are talking about war strategy, this is an example of how do you win a guerrilla situation.
Population is the lynch-pin. All else depends from that. Now take a look at where the population problems are. Here's some help.
That is just not true. I can bet to ya right now that france and spain combined (which amount to no more than 150 million people and descending) ammount for more contamination than India, which is well over 500 million.
By the way, comparing water usage of desert and temporate peoples is straw.
If thats a joke, I dont get it. I wasn't comparing anyhow, I was just showing that its easy to complain about countries that, according to this guy, contaminate more than his industrialized society when he has all those commodities that, in effect, ARE what is killing this earth.
So you tell me how does the average Indian people ammount to more contamination than the average ford driving, hamburger eating, microwave tv dinner cooking, refrigerator owning average american?
All these things are really tough problems. But as long as we as a world, not just a few industrialized countries, work towards solutions. we can eventually solve these problems. But the current situation is while some countries work towards solving these problems, many others don't, instead they get exemptions because they are poor countries. Worse yet, their populations are growing rapidly because they are having 15 kids per family all born into poverty.
Do you realize that an overwhelming majority of dangerous CO2 emmisions come from industrialized countries?
How then would it be the responsability of non-industrialized countries to stop emmisions that dont happen in their territory?
Do you know that 75% of the world trash is generated in industrialized countries? And that most of the wood cut from the jungle forests are cut precisely to fill up the demand of industrialized countries?
Think twice before blaming it on poor people that cant even afford to buy a car when you flush your fucking toilet and you spend just about the water ration of a poor family in desert africa for a week.
Great, virus free email, Group calendaring, central addressbook (ldap), shared folders (use courier, you dope).
Sadly, Outlook does not support any of the open standards that provide this functionality. But evolution does!
Ah, i see outlook runs on windows, perhaps thats why your ass is LOCKED IN to exchange.
Dump windows AND dump exchange.
Or even better, most of this functionality, compatible with the same standards as evolution, can be given in firefox+mozcal+thunderbird (actually all of it runs on windows). So no need to dump windows, just exchange AND outlook.
It works basically like diff. You and timmy take DocA.sxw and make a copy for each, you do you changes, timmy does his, timmy emails you his doc, you merge it with oo.o merge capabilities.
Since oo.o is plain XML, this is practically a diff->merge->patch procedure as we do in cvs or rcs.
We have too many mta's to worry about a fsking proprietary one. I would personally print all 30k pages of code and mail it to innosoft with proper instruction of where to stick it!
You can use mbox storage (i think its the default) and that can probably go to a couple of gigs, no prob.
But for real scalability (i am like at 5 gigs), you can use the maildir store. No problem, evo supports both. Anyhow, you should be using imap which really obviates the question in itself (its the problem of the server to manage large mailboxes then).
Okay, how about firefox devels make a "web developer release" with JUST the webdeveloper and editcss extensions.
Any relatively decent web developer would see how easy it is to get things done and then would see how ie doesnt quite comply, and so recomend Moz as the browser for their page.

We, the Coporate Citizens of America are mergin. America, hell, WORLD... prepare, we will begin thumping on your ass soon.
CDE?
I mean, what kind of nutcrack would you have to be to crave for such an ugly piece of software as CDE?
I mean, ANYTHING in GNU, from fvwm to blackbox, not to mention gnome or kde/Linux is ages ahead.
I made those sounds with your Hot Sister (TM) :)
That is actually the official name of what you call 'Mexico' .... ignorant asswipe.

Yeah, considering that most of the web doesnt render in it either, i think thats a great accomplishment.
It does come of better than links and lynx, but well, thats a surprise really.
He wants his (LAME) punchline back
